It’s a bit vague, really. I’ve talked about it before, and I sadly don’t have any new information.

He (and his snakes) can be looked at as both the Oh-So-Snake (as an enemy) and as Rope Snakes (as useful tools).

The Oh-So-Snake is alluded to in ch107.5 when Snake’s snakes rebel to claim the high-ranked rosette for themselves (as a group). They turn into a giant serpent (or even a basilisk), and Sebastian has to gain even more “rosette power” to defeat it. The Rope Snake parallel occurs any time they use any of his snakes to help them… like going through vents, pipes, cracks in the wall, etc. Also when they attack Bizarre Dolls or give Snake information to pass along to the earl and Sebastian.

If Snake ever finds out the first tier circus troupe members have been killed, we could see him as an adversary again. I expect he will find out at some point…. Real Ciel might even be the one to tell him.
