The fact that I haven’t drawn either of them seriously yet motived me to drop my original art plans to draw this instead somehow.

I decided to play around with different colors this time around and ended up taking inspo off that old “I depend on you” trend from a year or two back. These twos parallels are genuinely insane and I feel my self appreciating them more! Hopefully this reaches some nikado and Reina fans since I don’t really feed u guys like ever.

I should be dropping another drawing super soon since I’ve had a certain character stuck in my head for a past couple days so I need to quickly take care of that. I also have some culprit animation ideas waiting to be used so stay tuned for those as well!

Both are human like femenine dolls named and themed after flowers: Red poppies and purple lilies. Fun fact both of these flowers share a lot of simbolism with their characters.

Red poppies are associated with death, rest, resilience after loss, longing and separation, remembrance for fallen soldiers and symbolize hope that grows from horror.

Purple lilies are associated with royalty and status or quiet luxury, elegance and grace, success or accomplishment, high self worth, admiration and respect, creativity and individuality.

Both were placed in isolation by the Prototype by nearly a decade in doll like enviroments.

Both were brought to life through unorthodox methods and were the eventual undoing of their parents one way or another-Poppy was Elliot's world and losing his daughter broke him which led to his experiments in order to bring her back while Lily's existance was a karmic punishment for Gracie's conditioning. Both reaped what they showed.

Both are unaware that their parental figures, Elliot and Gracie, weren't that great people and have a rather innocent view of them because that's all they know of these people. Lily was lobotomized into forgetting her crimes as Gracie while Poppy was kept in the dark about what Elliot did in the shadows.

They feel they have to carry their legacy how their parents did it even if these alienate them from other toys: Lily by always carrying Gracie's teachings about good toys and Poppy by trying her best to provide protection as a leader to Safe Haven even if it means carrying massive guilt over the BBI.

They are held accountable by people, Harley and Oliver, for their parents's sins as they project onto them because since they are dead they have no one else to blame it all on even if they weren't alive at the time these acts were commited.

They have a diary.

They take away our freedom for needing us to aid in their plans and also for being the first person they have interacted with since their imprisonment and due to being desperate (one to end their collective suffering and the other to end her loneliness), seeing us in a good light: An angel and a good toy.

They have some princess simbolism to them: Lily by having a princess dress cutout and Poppy by her design and her being the damsel in disstress we have to break out of her imprisonment (3 times soon to be 4) and more importantly both are the closest to royalty in the factory by being the daughters of Playtime Co's staff-Poppy having been adopted by Ludwig as a baby and Lily by having Gracie's guts and voice inside her.

They were both created by a Ludwig member-Elliot and Oliver.

Both had to live with the remains of their parental figures for a while until they were discovered by Leith and us.

In season 1 episode 4 of the Pitt, Santos decides to put a patient on BiPaP, resulting in a life threatening tension pneumothorax, without presenting to Langdon (or another senior resident or attending).

In season 2 episode 4, Ogilvie pulls a piece of glass out of a patient's back, which removes the block of an arterial bleed, without waiting for permission.

These both are very similar situations from characters with (kind of) similar behavioral trends (ambition, overconfidence, ect.). But their differences, I feel, are especially highlighted: Santos acts overconfident and is brash with her coworkers early on, but it stems from a want to be liked and be seen as capable. She is also shown to learn from her mistakes, and have noble intentions. Right after this, she takes the blame for Samira even if it means more hostility from Langdon. Ogilvie, after making his mistake, is taken aback, but he is shown to continuously act pretentious, and fights to look highly competent. He still tries to undercut both Joy and Javadi, and his reaction to his mistake seems to stem from disappointment with the fact he has made a very public error in front of an attending, not remorse for the patient.

The reaction to these two mistakes are also different: Santos (very famously) gets a large amount of antagonism from Langdon because of this, while the doctor around Ogilvie gave him a much calmer reprimanding.

- eclipses are weirdly central to the plot and thematics. Day of Black Sun, obviously, but in siege of the north, the fire nation killing the moon is stylized as a lunar eclipse.

- color symbolism is crucial in animation, especially ATLA. Fire and Water in the show exchange each other’s colors constantly. Azula’s blue firebending, Hama’s red blood bending. Needless to say, the existence of PaintedSpirit. Now that I think about it, Zuko wears blue and Katara wears red more than they need to …

- I’ve never seen it outright stated, but everyone knows this: Zuko is obviously associated with gold, but I swear Katara is canonically a silver girly. Gold / Silver aesthetic ships are such an underrated red / blue variation. I’ve forced this onto so many of my OCs

- Zuko is weirdly drawn to water. He’s a fantastic swimmer. He mimics waterbending techniques and can bend underwater. He’s even a sailor. The Sailor/Mermaid ZK trope exists for a reason.

I mean, it's points that OP brings up like how Zuko spends most of his exile on a ship surrounded by water, how the happiest memories of his childhood involve either the ocean or garden pond/s (feeding turtleducks and spending time with his mom), his swimming skills etc. like he is placed in conjunction with forms of water near consantly to serve his path to character growth and change (him yelling at the sky to strike him down in the rain during one of his most challenging periods of growth for ex)

- I’ll take “the healing potential of fire bending, and destructive potential of waterbending” and raise you “lightning bending and bloodbending both have the capacity to be used in medicine”

- Katara would become as much a theatre kid as Zuko if given the opportunity.

- Zuko is the only MC that matches Katara’s passion for humanitarian work and vigilante justice. He *canonically* reminds her of Jet.
