more than anything i want him to get to the positive stage where the viewers can be directly shown the man who earnt the trust of trinity despite her traumatising past, and the man who has such a good rapport with the nurses that they automatically assume he's asking about them on a personal level when he talks to them since that's just who he is, and the man who gives javadi the space and encouragement to grow into who she wants to be, giving her the courage to understand that she's more than her parents wishes for her.

we know he's there somewhere, every interaction with the other staff show us that that's who he is inside, someone deeply caring and loving and driven, above all else, by an all-consuming empathy that is now eating him alive. i wish so badly that we'll get to see him happy and healthier and with the capacity to take care of not only others, but himself as well. he deserves that recovery and he deserves that peace and the medical community who have so deeply connected with this character deserve a story that is, at it's core, still driven by hope for a better future.

he’s been getting so short with u n stuff, typical tactic in trying to get you not to like him before he leaves, so you won’t be as sad when he doesn’t come back.

lord knows you been chewing him out for not wearing his helmet, it makes you nervous, and he KNOWS THAT!!

and you can’t help but notice his spending habits, asking you what that really expensive hair stuff you wanted was called, calling his insurance company when he thinks you cant hear…he’s planning to get rid of it all! trying to set you up for a life that he knows for a fact he can’t continue to be in.

you come to him one day, all teary eyed, pouting and upset, on the verge of literally breaking down. you had all day to ponder on this information, ready to confront him as to why he wants to really go on his sabbatical after asking dana what’s been going on with him at work. she tells you the hard truth.

he immediately starts breaking down, apologizing, saying how selfish he is for wanting to leave you here, how much work stresses him out, how he feels like a failure of a doctor and ofc you reassure him, sobbing along with him, trying to convince him that you don’t think less of him, that you love him, and that he’s still your dad at the end of the day.

Lmao this made me snort! So I’ll admit. I’m a littleeee bit of a fake fan, never reallyyy played but watched my partner and clips (cough thirst toks of the 141 cough) so my portrayal of Alex might not be 100% c: hopefully I did okay tho! Enjoy! c:

Sum: a blast from the past comes to ask you an important question!

One way or another, you had won this amazing lottery to intern across the sea at St. Mary-Rose training hospital.

Then the next thing you know, you’re taking care of a wounded solider, who sadly just lost his leg.

Meeting him was a coincidence, really, during your in short time in the UK. You were meant to work with emergency Peds only, but the hospital was short-staffed for a bit, so of course you helped where you could.

You were the first person he saw, waking up groggy after his surgery. You’ll always remember him asking if you were an angel and if heaven had rugby, much to your delight.

Handsome, charming and British? It only a matter of time before you developed a little crush on him, in between helping with physical therapy and teaching proper prosthetic care.

You almost confessed too, months in.

Until you learned about Farrah, the strong, beautiful woman still fighting out there.

Alex tried to play it off, claiming they were just friends but you couldn’t deny they way his eyes softened or that small smile that graced his face when he spoke of her.

You convinced him to be true to his feelings instead, when he tried to kiss you one day. Told him you’d always be a friends of his, in or across the pond but not to stop himself from finding a way to be with her.

The two of you had blossomed a beautiful friendship, and when the year was up— Alex was on his way back to war and you were back to the states.

Your little crush was thankfully gone and you appreciated the way Alex had become an older brother to you. While most surprisingly, Farrah has become your best friend.

Fast forward, you’re working as an R3 at the Pitt. Switching between day and night, you could confidently say you had found your place.

This was going to be your home once you graduated, especially if one Dr. Abbot was there.

Dr. Abbot was perfectly snarky with the best comebacks, competent, attentive and one hell of a doctor. You always appreciated his calm demeanor, especially when you had to work the hardest cases involving kids.

He’d compliment your pink scrubs and taught you to remeber that caring too much didn’t make you any less of a doctor.

And if you always had an extra green apple heart loli for him in your pockets?, well that was just between you and him.

You giggled internally, thinking about the first time you gave him one. How his eyes met yours as he sucked it, after pretending he didn’t want it.

Dr. Jack Abbot was perfectly swoon worthy.

He was everything you needed and more. If only he’d just give in and finally asked you out, thinking shaking your head.

Speaking of swoon worthy, you notice said man just walked in.

With your favorite drink in hand, iced this time, as he walks in with Robby. Their friendship was one you respected, knowing they understood eachother in ways they needed.

“That for me? Or Shen?” You can’t help but tease as they make there way over to you.

“Who says it’s not for Myrna?” He smirks before handing it you, making the three of you laugh.

“Careful, or she’ll ask for another vaginal exam” Robby snorts, putting on his glasses to read your charting notes.

“Another vaginal??” You ask looking between them .

“Don’t ask” the two of the reply in sync, making you giggle as Dana calls out for you.

“Hey kid!, there’s a flower delivery here for ya?”

Look around, you spot the one and only Alex, in his military suit holding a beautiful large bouquet of peonies.

“Alex!!” You can’t help but squeal as you rush toward the Brit, giving him a big hug.

“Is it just you? What are you doing here?” You ask as he hands you the flowers.

“Just me for now bug. Quick stop before London. Wanted to surprise ya” he says, smiling gently at you.

From the side, Jack watches like a hawk, his arms crossed and face in a permanent scowl.

“The hell is beans and toast over there?”

Dana and Robby share a look, as Jack fumes. He’s listening in, of course. You look so excited and happy, with those stupid flowers in your hand.

She prefer white roses, not peonies, Jack thinks smugly.

He spots the military outfit and the leg, as his scowl intensifies. His hands are restless, from crossed to in his pockets, waiting for beans and toasts to, he doesn’t know, leave?

Jealously, he notes. An emotion he doesn’t feel often.

At least. That was until he hears —

“Will you be Farrah and I’s best man and maid of honor bug?”

Happiness blooms through you, the smile on your face hurting as you quickly agree.

“It’s about damn time!!” You say hitting him in the arm. “Yes!! Tell Farrah I’m calling her asap to discuss the wedding!! Oh! You have to meet my friends before you leave!”

You wave over Robby and Abbot. The later looks a little bashful and pink you notice, as you give Robby a look. Robby only shakes his head at you smiling, as you go on to introduce them

“This is my basically my brother!! We met during my internship in the uk! I’m gonna be the man and maid of honor!” You gush out to them, feeling an incredible amount of happiness and love for the couple.

Alex laughs, “Alex Keller mates, bug and I go way back. Fixed me up right as rain when we met. Even had a wee crush on me and my fiancé after meeting her,” teasing you, as you go to playfully hit him again.

“Hmph!! My crush on Farrah lasted much longer thank you bery much.” You pout out.

“Dr.Robby. Congratulations man, couldn’t have picked a better women for the job or to lose your fiancé too,” Robby shakes his hand as Abbot follows.

“Dr. Abbot. Congratulations to you. Military?” Abbot asks, as Alex peeps his leg and demeanor.

“Something like that, you?”

“Marines”

The two gun eachother down for a second, which you completely miss. You hear Princess calling you over, signaling one of your patients needed you as you excuse yourself for a moment.

“Jack can you put these in the staff room for me please” you ask, puppy dog eyes in full affect.

“Course sweetheart, lemme walk you” he nods to Alex and Robby, as he places a firm hand on your lower back, while taking the flowers from you.

“Ever been to Europe?” You ask slyly, as you walk away with him.

I think of this quote from season two whenever that gets brought up.

JEFFERSON: I'm aware. Conflict of interest here. ROBBY: Why? Because we're friends? JEFFERSON: Ooh, look at you, using the F word. That's growth. ROBBY: I use F words all the time. I guess this therapy must be working.

Robby very clearly has a big struggle with accepting that one, people care about him, and two, said people are his friends. It's easier on him to keep distance purposefully and not get too involved in matters (even if he literally always does) because then he doesn't have to confront the mess that is knowing he's not alone.

So when it comes to Langdon, despite everyone else seeing them as solid friends, Robby doesn't organize Langdon that way, or at least doesn't on that particular day because then he can keep that mental barrier in place. He can keep Langdon at an arm's distance on a day where he doesn't want to acknowledge the need for support, because if he does, he'd have to acknowledge that there's people willing to offer it and man is that a damn hard thing to do.

We see Robby put that wall up many times. Putting Collins "in her place", that sidestep comment of being his best resident to Langdon, pushing away both Abbot and Dana, that sort of thing. When it gets to close, he chokes on it.

However, we all know they're friends. Robby wouldn't be as deeply wounded if they weren't. Henderson and Dana both comment about Langdon being Robby's boy. Langdon's been over to his place often enough to remember it. Robby set Langdon up with a fellowship rec before Langdon asked. They joke around in season one. It's clear they are friends.
