Is there/can there be a fic where Roy decides to go to one of Jamieβs games after he transfers but itβs a last minute/spur of the moment thing so when he gets there heβs just relying on βIβm Roy Kentβ to get him in the door and the ticket booth he goes to is operated by a nonbinary monarch drilling in pride merch wearing their personality on their sleeve so when Roy says heβs here to watch Tartt, they donβt even think and just gives Roy a ticket in the WAG section (and twenty minutes later has an entire panic attack about letting their rpf shipper heart lead them and they didnβt even realize it!).
Roy doesnβt realize itβs the WAG section and just watches the game and shouts at the ref for being a moron until he notices the woman beside him staring at him and watching him too hard and when he turns to barking ask what her problem is she signs and says thatβs sheβs just trying to see what heβs saying. She doesnβt understand the rules of the game and none of the WAGs talk to her because sheβs deaf. Thatβs when Roy realizes heβs in the WAG section and while heβs mildly baffled by it, heβs more enraged that the others would cast this nice woman out just for being deaf. He spends the rest of the game signing to her and teaching her about football (itβs my head canon that Roy can sign because of his granddad).
When Jamie notices Roy in the stands he does a double take. When he notices heβs with the WAGs, he does a triple take so hard it nearly breaks his neck. Heβs caught often through the game looking towards the stands and smiling like a loon.
Roy goes down to the locker room after the game with his new friend to be introduced to her boyfriend (a baby on the starting line up with potential) who, much to Royβs amusement and his friends smittenness, is still learning to sign and fumbling with it. When Jamie notices them there he immediately bounds over with all the joy of a bouncing golden retriever puppy and instead of greeting Roy, corrects his teammates sign that was accidentally wrong. (It is my head canon that Jamie signs because he was slow to talk and his mummy got a little desperate and so taught him the basics but then a deaf family moved in down the road and they became close so he became fluent).
Roy is happily surprised by Jamieβs ability to sign and they spend the evening meal hanging out with Royβs new friend and her boyfriend until they branch off to hang out on their own to celebrate the boys win.
From that game forward, if Roy crashes one of Jamieβs games, he always asks to sit with the WAGs ostensibly so he can sign with his friend but secretly because he and Jamie have started a βthingβ that theyβre both still trying to figure out but are both pretty sure is going to last forever.
