The Very First Open Agenda Challenge!
What is your Open Agenda? For the very first Open Agenda Challenge, I want to start with something easy that I think we could all use a little more of: spreading kindness. But most importantly, being kind to yourself. This year has been a mental challenge for a lot of us, especially those already dealing with mental health complications. So let’s spread some self-respect, love, and kindness!
Why should people work with you on your Open Agenda? 1) This year has been especially brutal to everyone and sometimes it’s easy to feel down on yourself or drop into a low spot as a result. 2) You are worth so much more than the negative thoughts tell you! It’s super duper important to counterbalance the hurtful thoughts with positive ones. The negative thoughts are lying anyway! 3) Being kind to yourself isn’t always easy, but I want this to be a good reminder for all of us to try shifting our mental pattern from seeing only the dark places to actively making the choice to seek out opportunities. 4) I want to continue the work of so many amazing people before me in spreading both self-awareness and mental health awareness as someone who has struggled with mental health issues for most of my life and have slowly figured out some of the secrets to breaking that cycle.
What is your Open Agenda Challenge? Look at yourself in the mirror and give yourself three compliments. Try to make them meaningful and relevant to topics you might be struggling with. For example, if you struggle with accepting your physical appearance, give yourself a compliment regarding something you do like about your physical appearance. This can be hard for some people, but I would encourage you to try this anyway. I love you all, you beautiful human beings and whatever else you identify as!
