“i’m bugging you guys,” being the response to famous jay’s “friends”/people around him is a much softer way of realizing in real time that not only do these people not know you but they don’t actually care to. it’s easier to think you actually did something wrong to not fit in or be warmly welcomed than to think there’s just something inherently wrong with you being there. having matt by his side spoiled him in that regard. always having someone excited by his presence. someone always indulging in his likes because they are shared and understood. the concept of that not being a normal human experience with the people around you is foreign to him. to them. they have it built in with one another and realizing it’s not there for everyone at anytime is a hard lesson to learn while your chest hair is showing and you’re wearing white pants.
