Hildraed! The pirate lady chanter! Originally from Readceras, she lost her parent’s farm when she couldn’t produce enough, and so became a pirate, robbing government ships wherever she could! First and foremost were her crew, but at times when she had something left she would share it with the poor peasents of the country. When Waidwen happened, she left most of her crew behind who wanted to stay, including her lover at the time, who was originally a captain employed to hunt her down, but who got disillusioned with the state he served and subsequently joined her. She fled with all who agreed to stay out of whatever the hell was going down in their home to the Deadfire, where they joined the Príncipi and she became a rather infamous captain. There she stayed for the next 15 years, until she overestimated herself and got on the bad side of a few too many people. Deciding that it was time for her to retire from the pirate life, she left for the Dyrwood, in hopes of returning to her roots once more, this time with better soil and a more generous lord.
She is 35 at the beginnig of PoE1 and therefore the oldest character I have ever played for now (if you ignore elf physics, which I am for this point). It’s gonna be certainly interesting, but she has to at least be 20 at the time Waidwen does his shit for the story to make any sense.
She herself is not religious, one of the reasons why she was so ready to not wait for Waidwen to fuck up, but she is also not as angry as Waidwen was. She mostly thinks the gods don’t really give a shit as long as you stay out of their radar, icluding Eothas, so she just stays out of all that. At most she’ll throw Ondra a coin if it looks like the sea is all too angry. That said she does have an eothas necklace from her mother that she hasn’t quite managed to get rid of. It’s not that she really expects anything, but it’s a familiar keepsake, and who knows, maybe he does really give at least a little shit and it’ll bring her luck.
