I'd have liked if she'd have slowly gotten rid of a lot, but not all, of the Borg stuff and switched to a regular uniform.
I’m imagining a version of the story where she modifies it - never stripping the armor off, but refining it, perhaps changing it to Starfleet colors over time, to play with the ideal of Star Fleet not destroying the cultures it interacts with, but slowly finding ways to coexist with them. Instead of having to turn her back on the borg, Seven of Nine becomes proof that the borg, alien as they are, can be convinced of a better way of doing things.

Yeah, @penig is right. You don't have to read to make music, at all. I was playing the piano before I could talk. Paul McCartney can't read or write music. Music is how stories were passed down before anyone could read.
I’m not saying it’s essential, some people have a natural ability to play by ear, but that isn’t the case for everyone, certainly not for me. Without sheet music I’m useless. I was just thinking of ways to make this challenge harder.

I'm loving Princess of Swords. It's particularly great to have now in such a stressful time. My favorite is unquestionably Kay, but I'm really enjoying Mordred too -- in a very different way. Also Morgan's awesome. And Lancelot being in his idiom cracked me up.
I should have had the cart driver or a squire be there but mortally wounded (”Actually, I’m feeling much better!”) by an arrow.
Thank you so much! I’m always anxious about writing Kay in particular, because I want him to come off as a jerk with a heart of gold, not just an unpleasant asshole.

I ran into people like her in Michigan, but that was public high school, and being that much fundie was still pretty rare. Though one girl did cry when I said I wouldn’t be taking my husband’s last name if I married, which was a weird thing. Maybe you’ve planted some seeds with this person, but mostly I’m glad she and especially her dangerous bf will be out of your life soon.
Oh, same. VERY MUCH same. I think they broke up, (or she's at least committed not to bringing him around), but abusive relationships are WEIRD and I just . . . nope.
I will say I actually slept really well last night (12 hours!) for the first time in like a week, so that was nice.
