I have an OC who is aromantic and bisexual who has a lot of casual sex. The thing is he doesnāt actively identify with the label aromantic (me calling him such is my perspective as his creator). Said character has a lot of casual sex, but heās always very up front to his partners that he isnāt looking for a relationship. I have other OCs who are bi (his roommate is bi, has dated men and women, and is currently in a long-term relationship for example) but I wasnāt sure if the OC I originally mentioned touched on any bad tropes too much.
the "promiscuous bisexual" trope is INCREDIBLY dangerous. having other characters that are bi and not promiscuous can help, yeah, but its still a very negative stereotype. its, uh, also a really bad stereotype for aromantics, actually. allos stereotype aros as just people who use others for sex. while this person may be someone who could exist in real life, there's a lot of harmfulness to this from both sides of the identity. examine what makes this guy seek out casual sex so much. sure, anyone can enjoy getting off and doing it often, but for this very specific orientation, it's a lot of bad tropes. you can salvage it, i'm sure, especially if you are aro or bi yourself (as i cant read your mind through the screen) but it'll take some outside explanations
