Q: Tell me some of the books that got you into reading. Or if you can't remember, tell me the books that sparked the love for your favourite genre(s). Kelley Armstrong is the author that really got me into urban fantasy 😁 It started with her YA trilogy Darkest Powers, then quickly moved onto her Otherworld seires. She also got me into thrillers back in the day! I'm currently doing a massive reread of her Otherworld universe books and I am LOVING it! It's so wonderful to return to this world. Q: Do you like smut in books? It really depends on the story and reading mood me. I generally don't like an excessive amount of graphic smut, even in the romance books I read. I think it's because I very much prefer slow burn romances where the characters don't start a relationship until the final part of the book, or sometimes not until two or three books after they meet! Depending on the tropes in the book, I will get a bit annoyed if there's a sex scene before the halfway point. After that, in the romance books I've enjoyed, there is an average of 1-3 smutty scenes of varying detail. Any more than that and I usually feel like it starts to get into the way of the plot/ character development. My preferences change slightly if the book is a sequel in a series following characters in an established relationship. Q: What are some of your hobbies outside of bookstagram? I am a gamer. Though not a very serious or good one 😅 I love playing story driven RPGs. It's not something I do too often though, because once I start a game I'll binge it and barely stop. I kind of got used to it 😅 Back in the early 2010s, Australian book publishers LOVED to change the covers of book series in mid series. Sometimes more than once 🙃 They'd change sizes too. It was more surprising when there WASN'T a chenge 😂 Because of that experience, I kind of got used to changes. They don't usually bother me. Do I wish I could buy a matching set? Sure I do. But I can't afford that right now.
