First opportunity for some detailing and I've built my own hinges for the door 👍 I folded some 0.5 mm plasticard in half and plastic welded it together. I then cut out the shape of the bracing and then did the same for the bracket making sure I fed a plastic rod through to create the hinge joint 👌 so far it's worked properly and I'm chuffed with it. I also scored in some wood grain with a flat headed screwdriver to add some depth. Woodland fairy door commission: ABSOLUTELY BARKING MAD! 4 steps on my efforts with the bark! I built up the structure with some tin foil which I then wrapped in masking tape. Once covered I then mashed up some paper with PVA to give an uneven surface to the tree... I then covered with paper and using a mixture of filler and PVA I then covered this layer. This allowed me to score in the bark lines with a screwdriver and knife, anything that would make a mark. Woodland fairy door commission: At the weekend I finished spraying the undercoats for the three... This gave a really good base to apply layer upon layer of acrylics 👍 Specifically focussing on the root detailing here I used a white as a base coat for the roots and then used a sand colour to add a tint to the roots.
