So um... What if mind-Raph is actually a creation from Raph's ninpo? What if, faced with the need to take care of his family, his ninpo manifested itself much earlier in a small way? Without anyone noticing it?
Like, Raph can create things, mostly make a bigger version of himself. But maybe his ninpo can also manifest in a weird connection-ninpo thing? Perhaps it's a blend of their psychic communication combined with his magic. A way to help his family without being physically present, giving form and awareness to that connection.
I've seen many AUs where, after Raphael's death, Mind Raph continues to exist. But what if he doesn't? When the source that gives him life is extinguished, he perishes with it, perhaps instantly, perhaps it has a slow death in which the remnants of ninpo that remained in him slowly disappear. Letting his family watch him die one more time.
Is this just an excuse to keep Mind Raph out of my fic? Totally.
