Elara and Anilyse were raised in a very open household. Open as in, nearly every day, someone new was there to see their mom.
Anilyse hated it. Elara loved it, mostly. She knew she wanted to be just like Ionia when she grew up. One day, they got visited by the retired Lou Jitsu and one of his sons. That was the very first time Elara met Donnie and he was the first friend she ever made. They were able to keep in contact.
A couple years after, and Ionia got her final acting job. The problem was it was not close by whatsoever. Elara did not want to leave Donnie, but she didn't want to not go with her mom either. She made the decision to go with her mom, hoping to whatever god out there that they would meet again.
Which does happen!
... Twenty-one years later.
She's a successful actor now. In the span of two and a half years, she goes through six different bodyguards. All fired because they either didn't do their job or were creeps about it.
Elara is going home from an outing with her two best friends when she gets cornered by some kidnappers. She ends up getting saved by a mysterious stranger who she finds out is none other then her old best friend Donnie. She is quick to invite him to her home and is not going to take no for an answer. They spend practically the entire night catching up until she falls asleep. He makes sure to not overstay his welcome and leave afterward.
Of course, the encounter makes him wonder. Why hadn't she been with someone, a bodyguard no less? He tracks her down again to try and find out the reason. When he overhears someone telling her to seriously find a new bodyguard, he signs himself up for the job, not that anyone would catch her complaining. It would give her more time with him.
He takes his job very seriously and rarely ever leaves her side except for at night. She's glad for it and trusts him with her life. Millie and Paisley tease her about him liking her and her liking him sometimes, but there's a problem with that.
She doesn't like Donnie, not in a love sense. She likes Michelangelo, a minor actor but a bigger artist. When Donnie finds out, he has no idea what to feel except for hurt and understanding.
He never told her about his brothers. What did he expect? And they know next to nothing about her either. The only thing his brothers know is that he has a bodyguard job for a famous actor now. He doesn't plan to tell them who the actor is because a part of him still wants to be selfish and keep her to himself.
After Elara tells of her crush, he tries to subtly bring it up to Mikey, let him know that the one he's protecting may or may not have taken a liking to him. What Donnie had least expected was for Mikey to already know. Now Mikey not only knows who he's bodyguarding for, but he also knows Donnie likes her.
Mikey respects Donnie's request to continue keeping it from Leo and Raph. Even still, Elara's newest movie job is landed with the two oldest siblings and that makes it all the more hard for the youngests to hide everything with Elara interacting with them more and more.
Eventually, the secrets all come to an end when, in the middle of the movie production, Elara vanishes. It's too far into production for her to be replaced, and the entire team falls into disarray and worry. Donnie goes off and tries to find her on his own, but everything he does fails. That eventually makes him go to Mikey, who was already forced to tell Leo and Raph everything.
Donnie gets his brothers to help him look for her. They exhaust every method he had used before asking them and then more. Still, they weren't able to find her. With the movie on hold and production even further panicking, their job only gets harder by the day because it means she could be anywhere by now.
After a week and a half of nothing, Donnie finally gets a clue from those who took her. One he jumps on immediately. He isn't able to get anything out of it and it sends him into a spiral. Leo finds him like that, forces him to get sleep, and ends up finding out the meaning. He only tells it to his twin after he gets enough sleep.
They gather their other two brothers and follow the clue to her location, hidden deep in a room in the base of an under-the-radar group called The Purple Dragons. Who Donnie has ran into before. After finding and rescuing her, he makes the executive decision to leave the bodyguard job. Because she was kidnapped because of him. If he hadn't pissed off the trio, she wouldn't have been in that situation.
At the time, she was too weak to protest, but once she was much healthier, she scolded him for doing it. She told him he was the only one she felt safe around. Admitting that to him out loud made her realize her true feelings. She never really liked Mikey, she liked Donnie. She mde him take the position again.
Back in the safety of the movie studio, the production team was extremely grateful to Donnie and his brothers (who Elara finds out about) and allows Elara as much time as she needs to get better and back to herself to be able to finish the movie. She sees it through, but takes a hiatus from any more jobs until the physical effects of when she was kidnapped vanished. She was glad to be able to spend a majority of that time with Donnie.
