Tzipporah in Marker
This marker drawing shows my intepretation of Tzipporah, the Midianite wife of Moses from the biblical Book of Exodus. Of course, her portrayal here is influenced a little bit by the one in Dreamworks's The Prince of Egypt. The tambourine-like instrument she has in her hand is a frame drum such as that used in many North African musical traditions.

The Hebrew Israelites for Dummiez - http://amzn.to/2CvILhe (2018 Edition) - Baal Peor & Sexual Customs
While God created all mankind, many have gone the way of Evil. The Most High, Creator of All, when planning to bring glory to His Name, selected a people of whom he would bring his glory. These people thru promise would go thru the fire, be punished for their sins, but when they finally come to repentance will be empowered and restored and the whole world will know who are the Children of God and who are Children of the devil. The Children of the light and the Children of the darkness.
hosea 9:10 - “When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the desert; when I saw your ancestors, it was like seeing the early fruit on the fig tree. But when they came to Baal Peor, they consecrated themselves to that shameful idol and became, as vile as the thing they loved.
The prophet called Balaam was offered money by King Balak of Moab to curse the israelites. As a diviner, one who deals with the spirit powers, he ascends the mountain of Pe‘or, and makes sacrifices. Having finished his sacrifices, Balaam looks upon the Israelites and although he was hired to curse them, instead he pronounced a blessing over them, prophesying their blessed nature and destruction of Moab.
According to the Torah, the Israelites, after living for a short time in the plains of Moab, started to involve themselves with the Moabite & Midianite women.
Context - The main story occurs shortly before the death of Moses & during the sojourning of the Israelites in the land under Moabite & Midianite rulership. The Story of Baal Peor comes at the close of forty years of wandering in the desert after leaving slavery in egypt.
As with the Negro in America today, the Israelites of that time were under the influence of Moabite culture, & thus the Israelites began to worship the Moabite gods, & joined themselves to 'Baal Peor'.
Baal Peor - as translated today was the god of the moabites.
Now before we let you believe that Balaam was a good prophet because of that action he infact has been seen as being wicked. On multiple occassions he went to high alters with the king of moab and made 7 sacrifices, but each time they tried to get something from their gods, theMostHigh would send him a prophecy that blessed israel instead of cursing them. Finally Balak has found some gain by throwing a stumbling block. Whenever Israelites lived in sin, Gods protection would be removed from them and all types of penalties, and negativity would go their way. Numbers 31:16 attributes this to the advice of Balaam: "Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD." This plague brought the greatest plague Israel had ever seen. Revelation also states that Balaam "taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel."
According to Revelation 2:14, Balaam told King Balak how to get the Israelites to commit sin by enticing them with sexual immorality and food sacrificed to idols. The Israelites fell into transgression due to these traps and God sent a deadly plague to them as a result (Numbers 31:16).
There is no way of knowing for sure whether Ba‘al Pe‘or is the same as Baal, except that the heathen nations often worshipped the same or similair based on their language and culture. Logically we are focused here on the 'local god of Mount Pe‘or'. Some think this to be also the same as Chemosh who is called the god of Moab in other biblical texts, and some even speculate that this god which is still worshipped today is still very licentious & effects the sexual customs practiced today.
Licentious means Lacking restraint, or ignoring societal standards, particularly in sexual conduct. These whether moabites & midianites today or those whom follow and promote their customs, such as the porn industry, would push the 'to do' list of things practiced during sexual confrontations. The most controversial being peeing or the partner, or taking a dump in laymen terms. Some go as far as saying swallowing sperm, eating vagina's & even tounge kissing.
The New Testament Also brings insight into the stumbling blocks that cause israelites to fall and are they being applied again against the same children of israelites whom are now following christ.
"They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness." II Peter 2:15
"Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah." Jude 1:11
Baal-Peor is a Moabite god who was worshiped with obscene rituals The name means “Lord of the Opening” from “Baal” meaning owner/ ... of the sexual rites used to worship him) Even St Jerome reported that statues of Baal-Peor he encountered in Syria depicted the god with a phallus in his mouth.

Midianites
In Numbers 25, the people of Midian together with Moab began to interact with the people of Israel, who were staying in Shittim. At this time, Israelite men began to have sexual relations with Moabite women. After being invited by Moabite women, some Israelite men participated in eating sacrificial meals and worshipping Moabite deities. The LORD then ordered a daylight execution of all those that had fornicated and worshipped with the Moabites.
While the Israelites were still assembled in mourning after the execution, an Israelite man, Zimri the son of Salu, publicly brought a Midianite woman, Cozbi daughter of Zur, into his tent. Phinehas, a grandson of Aaron, left the assembly, went inside the tent, and drove a javelin through both Zimri and Cozbi. Because of Phinehas' act, the LORD's wrath was turned away from the children of Israel. The LORD then ordered Moses to attack the Midianites for plotting against the Israelites in the matters of Peor and Cozbi.
After an army of 12,000 (1000 from each tribe) was sent against the Midianites, Moses was angry when the army returned with captive women and other spoils, because the women had played vital roles in the previous trespasses and consequent plague.
Moses then ordered all males and non-virgin females killed, and all female virgins preserved. One of every five hundred remaining captives of the soldiers' plunder was to be put in service as tribute to the LORD under Eleazar the priest (Numbers 31:28) as "heave offerings", thanksgiving for success. Out of the booty that belonged to Israelites, one of every fifty was set apart to the Levites who cared for the Tabernacle. (Numbers 31:30)
