Work Description: One custom My Little Pony made into the character of your choice. I feel like I can make any character into an MLP, so I'm open to other Marvel characters outside of the fandoms listed above. Please refer to my Instagram. I've done more than are listed there, but the Deadpool mini-pony and the chuthulu are good examples. If you want it to still be shippy, I can make the cutie mark match a different character or be symbolic of the ship in some way. We'll talk. I have several 2nd generation ponies available to pick from as well.

Seizures can result in all kinds of changes in behavior. Some persist for several days after an event, but even with a brain scan there’s no guarantee there hasn’t been microdamage somewhere, or swelling, or something else that’s affecting her behavior. Medications can also cause some behavior changes, but they mostly sort themselves out over a few weeks.

1. THE CORDELIA PREGNANT STORYLINE WAS BULLSHIT/resulting assholery.

2. FRED ‘DYING’ WTF. She didn’t deserve that, especially with the Wesley storyline getting to the point it got to. AND ALSO I just remembered Wesley’s death scene with Illyria. just rip out my heart and desecrate it, Joss Whedon.

3. Spike. I love Spike a lot. a lot. I watched all of Buffy before I watched Angel, and once I saw the other seasons and the team dynamic, I’m not sure whether Spike being there was a good thing or a cheap gimmick to bring in viewership. I will never be sad that he survived the amulet, but I remember watching it through and thinking ‘huh’

this makes me want to get you one of my favourite mask, but it's the wrong time of year, and I'm broke.

Well, also, masks are kind of personal to me, so in general I prefer people not gift them to me (the ones that have been gifts are from family and close friends). I appreciate the thought, though!

I did my master’s thesis on theatrical masks and masked performance! It kind of grew from that.

No, though I understand why some people would! I always forget how creepy it can be to walk into a home and see masks in every direction :D 

Part of my thesis was about the difference in the way that masks are perceived in different cultures, not just contemporarily but throughout time. The widespread conception of the mask as a face covering, in a symbolic sense, is actually quite new, dating from more or less the ultra-conservative Christian backlash to the Italian Renaissance. Obviously even before that the mask covered the face, but masks in art (theatre, painting, etc, as opposed to say, a handkerchief tied over your face during a robbery) throughout history have predominantly been perceived as a revelation, not a concealment. In ancient Greek theatre, the mask represented the inner spirit of the character; the actor was a vessel for that spirit. Later, in Rome, wax death masks were worn by actors to “give immortality” to the dead in funereal processions -- the actor was unimportant, with the honored dead center stage. In Commedia dell’arte this is really evident, with the type of mask representing the type of stock character (pantalone, captain, servant, lover, etc). Many Asian traditional theatrical forms also use the mask to express the essential nature of the character.  

The idea of a theatrical-style mask concealing the face is a pretty late development and almost exclusively European. Western cultures tend to be super uncomfortable with masks because we see them as concealing someone’s true intentions -- preventing us from reading their face -- rather than a representation of their true character. It’s why clowns, especially, are so upsetting to Western audiences -- we can SEE their face under their makeup-face but we can’t read their emotions well because of the makeup, and it fucks us up. 

This isn’t universal to everyone in the culture, but it’s pretty common. I think my work with masks, and how they’re utilized in performance, has dampened that sense for me. I see them as tools for expression (and, somewhat, places to hide -- that lingering cultural indoctrination) so I don’t mind them.
