“ Now, Mr. Starrick, that's a different story. I'm drowning in directives, all terribly boring. Let's say we work together and bring him down? “
“ What do you get out of all this? “
“ The chance to have a little fun with the bravest man in London “
“ You have a deal “
☓ Derek’s Memories #1
“Derek doesn’t always remember who they were or where they came from before or after they were turned, but sometimes those memories trickle back to them in stressful situations in forms of visible flashbacks.” -via bio
“It is best for him, then?”
Derek remembers the ground beneath his back, the frigid temperature and gusty wind from the mountainous air. Darkness warps around him and casts shadows against the backs of his eyelids, and even when they are pressed tightly closed he feels those shadows weave through his retinas. A throbbing annoyance beats against his shoulder and he feels weak, trapped, unable to move. He hears the voices around him though they fade in and out like a cloud passing over the sun. He strains to hear them more clearly though his attempt to do so only electrocutes his head, sending small boughs of pain to the back of his eye sockets in thumping motions. That thump – he can hear it like a drum, can feel it pass through the veins in his neck as the blood flow increases. It’s sporadic now, it’s consuming the voices, drowning them in bang, bang, bang…
“He will not remember,”
“Maybe he should know…”
Derek tries to speak. His mouth barely parts and a low grumble emits in the back of his throat instead. Please. He wants to beg. Don’t make me forget.
But it’s too late. He hears footsteps making their leave, and a larger shadow than those he has seen before looms over him now. Derek’s irises go wide, and his eyelashes flutter. “Why me…”
He feels liquid stream down his throat. He wants to choke on the substance but is unable to. It corrodes and burns the inside of his mouth, and it settles in his stomach. It is eating away at his insides, changing them, corrupting them.
Killing them.
A flash of white light illuminates the room. And once again, Derek forgets.
Mipha is the only one in this scene who doesn’t have a line. (Excluding Link of course!)
