So I be slaying that spire 2 much recently, had to draw a fave lil guy
fair warning,,, if you and your buddies all play regent it will be really adorable and crash your game really bad a lot. (honorable fifth team member is the tiny regent relic)
So I got my hands on a copy of Slay the Spire 2 and as a huge fan of the first game. I have to say that I'm completely blown away! They added four player co-op and two new classes. The animations are so clean and well designed, and I love the new characters, the Nercobinder and the Regent! The Necrobinder has a giant skeletal hand named Otsy, and the Regent has a giant sword he can summon! They're so much fun to play! Hope you'll check it out, and mention it to any friends who like rouge-like or deckbuilder games, and I'm sure they'll thank you! Let me know who your favorite character is in the comments! :D
As always, thanks for taking the time to read, and don't forget about the original Slay the Spire and both games developer Mega Crit! The game has some pretty cool behind the scenes lore that has made me respect the game and its developer so much more! Anyway, I'll see you in the next post! :D
Slay the Spire II launches in Early Access on March 5 - Gematsu
Roguelike deckbuilder sequel Slay the Spire II will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam on March 5, developer Mega Crit announced.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
The ultimate roguelike deckbuilder returns! For 1,000 years, the Spire lay dormant, its secrets buried and its horrors forgotten. Now, it has reopened, hungrier and more dangerous than ever, devouring all who dare to ascend. New perils demand sharper strategies, relentless cunning, and unwavering resolve. Outwit the Spire’s brutal trials and uncover the truths hidden at its peak. Will you attempt the climb alone or enlist the aid of your fellow adventurers?
An Ever-Changing Spire
Step into the newly evolved Spire, a twisted labyrinth teeming with strange and deadly foes. Adapt to an arsenal of brand new cards, relics, and potions, each offering game-changing possibilities—or dangerous consequences. Climb the Spire with a new and returning cast of characters, each with their own cards, motives, and secrets. No two climbs are ever the same. Unpredictable challenges and evolving strategies await those brave—or foolish—enough to ascend.
Climb Alone or With Allies
Brave the ascent on your own, or play with up to four players and face the Spire together in the all new cooperative mode. Discover multiplayer-specific cards, powerful team synergies, and carry your friends (or get carried) to victory!
A New and Returning Cast of Characters
Embark on your quest to Slay the Spire as one of five different characters, some of whom will be familiar to seasoned Slayers and two of whom who are brand new. Discover each character’s unique playstyle, full potential, and secret backstory as you conquer all who stand in their way.
Uncover the Spire’s Lore
The history of the Spire and its inhabitants, be they friend or foe, can now be discovered in entirely new ways. Unlock fragments of its mysterious timeline and encounter the most ancient of its residents through your myriad attempts.
More to Come in Early Access
The Spire truly is ever-changing… in more ways than one. More content—including cards, events, environments, enemies, and more—will be added and balanced throughout Early Access. Join the journey early to be a part of the Spire’s next evolution. Why release in Early Access, you ask? Slay the Spire‘s success comes from our community! It sounds corny, but the extra mile many of you went to report issues, translate content/announcements, create long video essays, make excellent (lol) tier lists, and draw goofy or gorgeous fan art is the reason we’re doing it all again. We love our job!

haven't seen a solo post about this yet: Mega Crit (the devs behind Slay The Spire) are delaying their next title and migrating to a different engine after Unity's Runtime Fees change
Slay the Spire 2: Strategies for Chaotic Runs
Slay the Spire 2 the long-awaited roguelike deckbuilder game has officially arrived on Linux, Steam Deck, Mac, and Windows PC. Thanks to the creative minds at Mega Crit, the Spire is alive once more. Which you can now find on Steam Early Access with 97% Overwhelmingly Positive reviews. The Spire is awake again. After a thousand years of silence, it’s hungry, dangerous, and calling players back for another climb. Slay the Spire 2 just landed in Early Access, and if you like clever strategy, chaotic runs, this one’s going to take over your evenings.
The Spire Has Changed - And That’s Exactly Why It’s Exciting
If you played the original, you already know the feeling. You start a run thinking you’ve got a plan. Then the Spire throws a weird relic at you. Suddenly your deck becomes something totally different. The run spirals into beautiful chaos. Win or lose, you’re already thinking about the next climb. Slay the Spire 2 brings that exact magic back, but the entire Spire has evolved. The labyrinth you’re climbing now feels stranger, more dangerous, and packed with new surprises. New enemies appear. New cards bend the rules of your strategy. While relics and potions can transform your build in ways that feel brilliant, or completely reckless. And that’s the heart of a great roguelike deckbuilder. Every decision matters. Every run tells a different story. No two climbs play out the same.
Five Characters, New Secrets, New Playstyles
This time around, you’ll climb the Spire as one of five characters. Some of them will feel familiar if you’ve been around since the original game. Others are brand new, bringing fresh mechanics and play styles that completely change how you approach each run. Each character has their own deck-building identity. Their own strengths. Their own risks. But there’s something deeper happening here too. Slay the Spire 2 is expanding the lore of the Spire itself. The more runs you attempt, the more fragments of its strange history start to reveal themselves. You’ll meet ancient residents of the Spire and slowly piece together what actually happened during its thousand-year slumber. It adds a quiet mystery behind all the combat and strategy.

The Biggest Surprise: Co-op Climbing
Here’s the twist I didn’t expect. You can now climb the Spire with friends. For the first time, Slay the Spire 2 includes a co-op mode for up to four players. That means shared strategies, coordinated decks, and the occasional moment where someone completely saves the run, or accidentally ruins it. Multiplayer introduces special cards designed for teamwork. Some builds synergize across players in ways that simply weren’t possible before. And yes… sometimes you’ll carry your friends. Sometimes they’ll carry you. Either way, it sounds like chaos in the best possible way.
Built for PC Gamers (and Linux Players Too)
One thing that immediately stands out is how accessible the Early Access release is. Slay the Spire 2 is already playable on, Linux, Steam Deck, Mac, and Windows PC. For Linux players especially, that’s great news. Native support means smoother performance and fewer hoops to jump through. If you’re someone who values open platforms and clean Steam Deck performance, this is exactly the kind of release you want to see.
Early Access, and a Long Road Ahead
The developers are being upfront about the timeline. The original Slay the Spire spent longer in Early Access than expected, around 1.5 years instead of the planned year. Due to that experience, the team expects Slay the Spire 2 to likely follow a similar 1–2 year Early Access journey. But that’s not a bad thing. Early Access means the game will keep evolving. New cards, enemies, environments, and events will continue to arrive while the community helps shape the balance. And honestly, that community feedback helped make the first game legendary. Players made tier lists. Reported bugs. Created guides. Produced massive video breakdowns of card combos. Even translated announcements. The devs clearly remember that, since they want the community involved again.
The Climb Begins Again
The Spire waited a thousand years. Now it’s open again, full of new dangers, strange relics, and stories still hidden at the top. For fans of tactical games and smart deckbuilding, Slay the Spire 2 roguelike deckbuilder already feels like the start of another obsession. Now on Steam Early Access for $24.99 USD / £19.99 / 22,99€.
With Slay the Spire II, Mega Crit tries their hand in creating a compelling deckbuilding roguelike once again.
Slay the Spire II is a great follow-up to a game that has become synonymous with its genre due to its high quality and the influence it had on the market as a whole. While the new game is still in early access, it barely feels like its experience isn’t complete except for some small menu text hinting at more here and there. Everyone who loves deckbuilding and roguelikes will see how much depth it has to offer and end up playing just a few more runs next.
