MangaGamer has announced that Rose Guns Days Season 2, the next chapter of Ryukishi07’s alternate history crime visual novel, will launch for PC via Steam and the MangaGamer Store on July 30, 2026. The announcement was made during the publisher’s Anime Expo 2026 panel, where pre-orders also opened.

Season 2 is the second of four planned chapters bringing 07th Expansion’s Rose Guns Days to modern PC storefronts. This release features updated visuals and support for Japanese, English, and Chinese.

Written by Ryukishi07, the creator of Higurashi When They Cry and Umineko When They Cry, Rose Guns Days is set in an alternate history following World War II. In this version of history, a natural disaster forces Japan to surrender before the atomic bombings, leaving the country divided between Chinese and American occupation zones as Chinese and American forces compete for influence.

The story follows war veteran Leo Shishigami and brothel proprietress Rose Haibara as they become caught in escalating gang conflicts throughout City 23. Season 2 continues that story with the remastered presentation introduced in the first chapter, including updated graphics and Japanese, English, and Chinese language support.

Rose Guns Days Season 2 launches for PC via Steam and the MangaGamer Store on July 30, 2026.

Sega has announced a new Sonic animated short, Sonic the Hedgehog: Memories and Beyond, which will be released in Fall 2026 as part of the franchise’s 35th anniversary.

Dr. Eggman’s new evil scheme is to upgrade Metal Sonic into the ultimate fighting machine by stealing Sonic’s life-data and harnessing the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic and his friends realize that to defeat Metal Sonic they must rely on the friendship they built through their adventures.

Tristia: Chronicles, which includes both Tristia: Legacy and Tristia: Restore, will launch for Switch on September 17 in the west, publisher Aksys Games announced. Pre-orders are available now via retailers like Aksys Games Store and VGP.

The Kogado Studio-developed games previously launched for Switch in Japan and Asia, and for PC via Steam worldwide on January 19, 2023.

Aksys Games will release PiXEL-developed shoot ’em up Bounty Sisters for Switch this fall in the west, the publisher announced.

Bounty Sisters first launched for Switch on December 18, 2025 in Japan. A PC (Steam) version is planned, but has yet to be dated.

Bounty Sisters is a fully voiced comedy adventure / vertical scrolling shoot ’em up in which you pilot the vehicles of three unique sisters, utilizing their main and sub weapons, help from sisters, and special skills (bombs) to progress. Character designs and illustrations were handled by Shuzilow.HA.

Reiji Kaga (voiced by Haruki Ishiya) – A friend of the protagonist and a university student. Although he excels academically, he postpones job hunting to focus on his hobbies and part-time jobs. While his interests in horse racing and pachinko haven’t yielded great results, his excellent memory and insight make him unbeatable at mahjong.

Hotaru Natsunagi (voiced by Yuki Tanaka) – A girl living on the island. Due to her frail health, she’s never left the island and yearns for city life. After an unexpected encounter with the protagonist, the wheel of fate for both her and the island begins to turn.

Yukitsune Saeki (voiced by Yuya Hirose) – A young man living on the island. Possesses mysterious powers and spends his days helping others. Claims the protagonist is his “destined person,” but his true intentions remain unclear.

Spike Chunsoft will release retro-style visual novel STEINS;GATE Octet of Shifting Space for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam in the west, the publisher announced.

STEINS;GATE Octet of Shifting Space first launched for PC on October 28, 2011 in Japan.

In Japan, the PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Switch versions of STEINS;GATE Octet of Shifting Space will come included with the physical edition of STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT as an early purchase bonus.

Spike Chunsoft said it will announce details on how to obtain STEINS;GATE Octet of Shifting Space in the west at a later date.

STEINS;GATE Octet of Shifting Space is an adaptation of the title originally released in 2011 for Windows XP / Vista / 7. Classic Screen-Drawing Visuals

Players who prefer a faster pace can skip the drawing animation at any time with the press of a button.

Graphics Modes Inspired by Classic PCs

Graphics modes capture the nostalgic charm of vintage hardware by recreating the capabilities of PCs from the 1980s. Players can enjoy everything from classic 8-color digital RGB graphics to visuals inspired by green monochrome monitors. The sound experience is equally authentic, recreating the FM synthesis and PSG sound chips used by classic PCs. Even differences in hardware specifications, such as three FM channels plus three PSG channels, have been recreated to deliver an authentic listening experience. The music was personally handled by Composer Takeshi Abo.

In related news, Spike Chunsoft announced it will release a Digital Deluxe Edition of STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT. It will include a copy of the game, digital visual book, digital soundtrack, and footage from the “STEINS;GATE 15th LIVE: ONE WORLD” live event (with English subtitles).

STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on August 20 in Japan. The Xbox Series and PC versions will launch on the same day in the west, while the PlayStation 5, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and Switch versions will launch on October 29.

Publisher Spike Chunsoft and developer Gemdrops have delayed Danganronpa 2×2 from its previously planned 2026 release window to early 2027. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam.

As previously announced, the game will be available in standard and “Psycho Tropical Vacation Package” editions. The latter, priced at $139.99, includes a copy of the game, clamshell-style outer box, Kidrobot Psycho Tropical three-inch Monokuma and Monomi figures, an RSVLTS reversible Psycho Tropical bucket hat, and the Danganronpa 2×2 original soundtrack.

Slayhem Mode

Danganronpa 2×2 lets players experience Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair in two different modes. Players can choose between the revamped scenario in “Original” mode, which retells the story from the 2012 release with enhanced visuals and updated presentation for modern game systems, and “Slayhem” mode which features a new scenario based on Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, but completely different storyline. Both options are available from the start of the game.

In “Slayhem” a certain incident triggers a dramatically different chain of events with different victims, culprits, and tricks. Slayhem offers approximately 20 percent more content than Original mode.

World Map

The World Map has undergone a major update in Danganronpa 2×2. Whereas Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair featured a side-scrolling map for traveling between locations, Danganronpa 2×2 introduces a 3D World Map that gives players a clearer sense of the island’s layout. Players can navigate the island however they prefer, whether by freely running across the map or instantly traveling to a selected destination. The 3D map, when displayed from a first-person perspective, also evokes a tropical atmosphere.
