Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II coming to Switch 2 - Gematsu
Publisher Square Enix and developer ACQUIRE have released Switch 2 versions of Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II via Nintendo eShop in Japan for 5,478 yen each. A bundle is also available for 6,820 yen. In the west, each game will launch individually as both physical and digital titles on October 1, as well as in a digital bundle. In Japan, a physical bundle, shipped on a game-key card, will be available on the same date.
Octopath Traveler first launched for Switch on July 13, 2018, followed by PC via Steam on June 7, 2019, Stadia on April 28, 2020, Xbox One and PC via Microsoft Store on March 25, 2021, and PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on June 5, 2024.
Octopath Traveler II first launched for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on February 24, 2024, followed by for Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Microsoft Store on June 5, 2024.
The Switch 2 versions of each title feature improved resolutions and frame rate, and are not compatible with save data from the Switch versions. There is also no upgrade path from the Switch versions.

Familiar mechanics from the original game have been preserved, like the freedom to develop your travelersâ jobs and skills, as well as the Break and Boost system that made battles so exhilarating. New mechanics have also been added.
