"What, are you a fairy or something?"
Olsen's question makes Ray's brain freeze for a second, but somehow his feet keep walking. Normally, he would give some sort of witty retort and laugh it off, but fuck it. He's going to die anyway, right? “Yeah, Hank, I am.”
“Oh.” Is the only thing that Olsen can think of to say and then turns around and keeps walking.
Ray swallows, and while he’s hoping that he didn’t just burn a bridge to one of his musketeers, he sees the way that Pete stumbles, catching his first warning and the way Pete’s eyes haven’t left the side of his face. Ray pushes a chuckle up from his chest. “Keep up, Pete, don’t quit on us now.”
“Fuck, Ray, I ain’t quittin’, remember what I said? Gotta at least outlast Barkovitch, and that asshole just won’t stop.”
That earns a laugh from everyone, even Olsen, and Ray’s chest loosens when Pete slings his arm over his shoulder.
“Fuck you guys, seriously, you’re all a bunch of fucking queers,” Barkovitch growls back at them and picks up his pace just a little to get further away from them.
“So you really like taking it up the ass?” Olsen has turned back around and is walking backward to talk to Ray. “What’s that like?”
“Why are you so interested in it, Olsen? You thinking about switching teams?” Ray smirks, joking it off. Sure, he can admit he’s queer, but he sure as shit isn’t gonna admit he’s a virgin.
“Hell no, just making conversation, that’s all, gotta do something right?”
“Okay, fine then, why don’t you tell us all what it’s like to fuck a lady, if you wanna talk so bad?” That was Ray’s first mistake; he thought Olsen would just tell him to fuck off and they’d all walk in silence for a while, but he underestimated just how dirty Olsen’s mouth was.
“It would be my pleasure to educate a fairy on the ways of a woman.”
On the other side of him, Art groans. “Man, Ray, now you got him started,” he shakes his head.
While Ray was doing his best to tune out Hank’s very explicit form of sex education, he felt Pete’s hand brush his. Perhaps being a dead man walking made him too brave, because he kept his hand there and linked their pinkies together.
