🐰🐶 again... and even more to follow...
My guardian angel, Garraty thought wryly.
Another quote that keeps living rentfree in my head, ever since I first read the book- and I'm quite sure y'all can tell by now ( funny thing is, it's not even really the first time he made a comparison like that. I'm particularly thinnimg about that one time he literally compared Stebbins' hair to a " sickly" halo🫠)
I know I've talked about the demi-god comparison quite a bit some time ago, but. This one is pretty interesting as well ( even if it i s a little similar, at least in some ways) . Especially in relation to the Major, who still takes on the role of this basically " god-like" figure in the eyes of tlw's society. Might yapp on about this this in a smaller extra post, since I don't want to drag this out too much, so.
Silly little raybins moodboard, expect that I tried because I'm ( back on my bullshit) in my thoughts about those two idiots again . I say, almost as if they weren't costantly living rentfree in my mind anyway) </3
I'm not sure wether I'm fully content with the way this turned out, but. Gonna leave this here for now. Hope you guys like it...a little? ^^'
Don’t get me wrong I love Gavries, but in the movie we seriously lost out on some insane Raybins potential from the book.
To be fair, it’s pretty one sided lmao. Every time anyone does anything in the book, Ray thinks about Stebbins. Nobody’s died yet? “Stebbins will go first I know it,” Ewing has blisters. “Hmm I wonder if Stebbins has blisters,” brother just say ur not straight. Someone could breathe and Ray would think “I wonder if Stebbins breathes too. He’s different.”
Right after Gribble did it with a girl on the side and Garraty was freaky, Garraty of course thinks of Stebbins and wants to fight him for no reason, like Garraty get a job you have issues
He also is obsessed before he even said anything to Stebbins. Stebbins is just a boy eating jelly sandwiches in the back and he’s literally haunting Garraty’s nightmares
Don’t worry Garraty I love Stebbins too
Saw an edit of Raybins to Loser Baby earlier and I was clawing at the walls of my enclosure literally them with Loser Baby is everything to me

I’ve been offline for a bit because of family issues, but I wanted to take a moment to share my first-ever commissioned fanart! I loved what @gutlotus did for a friend’s commission, so I had to ask for Raybins. I wanted a piece with hybrid elements from the book and movie. I also chose a reference pose that could be interpreted as menacing or possessive at first glance, but with facial expressions that show the sweeter side of Ray and Stebbins’ relationship.
Also. Stupid little Alice in Wonderland/ Raybins moodboard, because ( those gremlins have taken over my last few functioning braincells) the Alice/ White Rabbit for them is s o fun to me </3
I've actually seen some comparisons between Stebbins and some of the other characters from Alice in Wonderland- technically both, in canon and by fans, which is quite interesting to me as well, lol. ( especially since there a r e some smaller parallels here and there, even if the over-all comparison to them doesn't fit a s good. Which I find quite funny), but. Narratively( and regarding some other characteriscs as well) , the white rabbit comparison d o e s make the most sense. Quite a lot of thoughts about the matter/ the parallels actually, and I might make some extra post about it some time, because this will become way too long otherwise.
What's kinda " funny" to me in comparison though, is the way the white rabbit is basically constantly anxious about being " late" to where he's supoosed to be. Whereas Stebbins actually ends up being "to late", in a less literal sense. ( both, too late to acknowledge his own humanity/ vulnerabilty a n d too late to make his dad acknowledge/ accept him ( even though I find it a little debatable wether the Major actually knew about him the entire time or not, but. Stebbins himself w a s convinced of it by the end of the novel, unfortunately </3)
Also, Ray is pretty much. 100% Alice to me. Not only in regards to the way he is narratively " tied" with Stebbins' character/ the way he followed him " further" into the " rabbit hole" of the walk, but. Also because some things are so weirdly similar, if you think too hard about it ( which I did, lmao).
Not in the exact same way ofc, since Ray is very obviously n o t in Wonderland, but. I still have a lot of thoughts about this comparison as well 🫠 ( might leave them for another post though, because this is getting too long already </3)
Anyway- no idea wether this is something, or not, but. Have it, ig xd
“this trend but NOBODY is safe”
BUT YOU NEVER PUT FUCKING RAYBINS
