Stebbunny at my IV appointment with me the other day
Bet you thought I forgot about him
Stebbins doodles from the last month
Being obsessed with a character, who is canonly associated with a n o t h e r piece of media/ literature is genuinely kinda wild.
Because what do you mean, any Alice in Wonderland references just somehow end up making me feel suspiciously sad at this point? ðŸ«

Stebbunny says hello to all
The soldiers shooting Stebbins' literal corpse at the end of the book will never not be a bit of an extra gut-punch to me, actually. He's not even the first or the only walker they did this to, but. Something about this almost feels particularly bleak to me.
And while I'm quite sure that a part of that might simply be due to the fact that he's my fav, but. Something about this almost seems like a bit of another, final reminder of how little the walkers ( a l l of the walkers) actually matter, in the grand scheme of things/ in the eyes of the crowd, or, in a further sense, the society they live in.
The fact that he made it so far, up to the point where he was not only the "odd's on favourite" in Vegas for a while afzer Scramm died. But also made it to the final two, in the end. Only to get shot after he was already dead, almost emphasises the fact that no matter how invested the crowd is in the walk, no matter wether they might bet on, or even more or less " root" for a candidate. The walkers as people still cease to matter, after they get their ticket ( all that matters in the end, is the fact that they lost).
Or maybe I'm just reaching a little bit here, and thinking too mouch about this, which...could be very true as well, I guess, but. Thinking about this pains me quite a lot, so. I felt like yapping a little ðŸ«
