Duke is in a pinch for time. He’s committed to voting but it seems like the world is against him when he discovers that despite pre registering to vote he’s not only not registered hit his car has broken down too! That’s when he meets Marva, an activist committed to making sure everyone can vote. The pair spend the day together determined to make sure Duke votes and makes it to hard band’s show on time as well as looking for Marva’s missing cat. Will these two accomplish their goals?
This was a charming tale from start to finish that while entertaining also highlighted some important issues the voting class faces each election, and for BIPOC inequity they face daily. This is an important read I would encourage all YA readers to pick up.

Such a bittersweet ending to this amazing trilogy!
Everyone’s favorite fictional true crime podcaster is back! Pip is wrapping up her senior year and things are looking up, but she can’t let go of the trauma she’s experienced. She surmises that she needs one final case to regain her peace and move on. Pip finds herself in the middle of a case when she discovers she has a stalker. She races the clock to see if she can unmask her stalker, whom she believes to be the true Duct Tape Murderer, before she becomes his sixth victim. Will Pip crack the case in time?
I found myself so torn on pacing for this book: I did not want this series to end and wanted to savor this BUT this was so hard to put down! This book pulled me in and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I truly love the style of these books - laid out like a true crime website or report. And I’m really impressed with the ability to continue to weave major storylines from the series into each book, while creating a brand new story each time.
I highly recommend this wholesome true crime trilogy!

In May, I read 7 books, DNF-ed 1 book, went to 3 concerts, traveled to Chicago for a 3-day weekend, and saw 13 Broadway shows. I don’t know when I slept in May!. These are a few of my favorites from May:. 🍋 This Vicious Grace by Emily Thiede - Alessa is the chosen one – the Finestra – and each Finestra needs a Fonte – a person blessed by the goddess Dea with a unique gift – to work in tandem to protect their home island from the inevitable attack that comes every so often. This story goes with your typical “chosen one” troupe and switches it up, and I think that’s why I enjoyed it so much. It was something familiar with something new. I felt like I understood and could picture this world easily. 🐴 Something Wilder by Christina Lauren - This was Indiana Jones meets National Treasure meets -insert any rom com of your choosing here- and I loved it! I didn’t expect this to be such an adventure story and that was a pleasant surprise! This story heavily focuses on the treasure hunt aspect and trekking through the desert. The romance of Lily and Leo felt like it took a slow burn backseat to everything else going on. And you know what? I didn’t mind that at all. ⏳Piranesi by Susanna Clarke - Piranesi is one of the hardest books I may ever try to review, because it’s one of those books you need to experience for yourself. It’s strange.
