I missed the part where Shanks adopted and raised Luffy like he did Uta.

My gift to @standreamy for our server's annual gift exchange event. While making the gift, I noticed the amount of subtle hints at Luffy in Uta's hopeful songs. As for the beginning, I was inspired by Aury's own fic. Please check out the works of our multitalented bean!

*Uta is doing a live performance broadcast over the radio, though it's from her home like she did before the New Genesis Concert*

Uta: Now I know you all really love my original songs, and I'll do more of them soon, but first I wanna do something a little different. Today's actually a special occasion and I'd like to celebrate it, so please indulge me.

Robin: Well that's interesting, I wonder what it will be? It's not a worldwide holiday of any kind as far as I know...

*the rest of the crew are all gathered around the radio transponder too, and all agree they don't really know what this could be for*

Uta: Ahem... Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, Little Monkey~ Happy birthday tooo youuuu!~

Usopp: Now that's unexpected... why would Princess Uta randomly be giving birthday shout outs?

Luffy: Oh wow! It's my birthday, what a coincidence!

Zoro: She literally said monkey, it seems like more than a coincidence, even if it does raise more questions.

Uta: It's a little embarrassing to say, but um... that song goes out to the man I love! You know who you are, and I miss you~ Hope you're working hard so we can both reach our New Genesis, and happy birthday!

*Everyone else in the crew is dumbfounded by this, staring at Luffy in horrified disbelief. He just grins with his hands behind his head*
