When the very same fans who say the Character A/Character B ship is bad because it’s one-sided on B’s end (or was until the very end of the story) also push for shipping B with Character C because C has feelings for them or at least is implied to…except B doesn’t reciprocate. So NOW the ship being one-sided isn’t an issue for you?

The main realization I've had is that the characters I hate the most in fiction, are the characters that are overly glazed by the author, the fandom, and other characters, and I feel they don't deserve it. Examples are Snape(I don't buy his thing for Lily as love, and his manchild behavior in most of the books is too much for me), Itachi Uchiha(He basically caused a lot of the problems in the series with how he handled Sasuke), Rhaegar Targaryen(He is at best very stupid. As king he probably would have been a mad king like Baelor the Blessed, but without the political savvyness Baelor had), among others

When your favorite female character is so hated she’s not even discussed in those posts/prompts about unfairly hated and demonized female characters even when your fandom gets mentioned…often because she’s in opposition to the more popular but still controversial female character, who gets treated as the only victim of the fandom’s demonization

Maybe. Or maybe you only think that, because you are still at the very beginning of the entire and long story and the reason for the character's self-worth issues and trauma and everything else hasn't been explained yet! Maybe actually continue with the story instead of demanding to have every plot twist and dramatic backstory explained to you right away!

“Why are you said over the villain dying but not their victims?” Let me hold your hand through this. The villain is a fleshed out character the story made me care about. Their victims are background characters I know nothing about. This is fiction and how the reader/viewer tends to naturally react.

I do not know what I find more concerning. The severe downplaying of the long-term effects of child abuse. Or the implication that abuse victims who suffer from trauma and are not this perfect teary eyed victim are somehow just born bad and not a product of the abuse they had suffered from.

The shorter response can do a lot, in specific circumstances, but by taking the shorthand away, so much more space for character is created.
