How fandom will cry “This character deserves consequences for what they did in the show!” and the ‘consequences’ that they suggest are so extreme/egregious that the character would be valid for applying for disability afterwards.

#One Piece fans who whine that Sanji didn’t face consequences for what he did in Whole Cake Island #They try to use Usopp in Water 7 as an example but Sanji’s situation was more similar to Robin in Enies Lobby #and no one says Robin should’ve suffered consequences #A lot of the consequences they suggest for Sanji are just so spiteful and mean-spirited

Reblog and put in the tags a plot twist that was foreshadowed but that you still felt was a bad plot twist.

#Danganronpa V3’s ending plot twist #Yes it was foreshadowed in the prologue and at a few blink-and-you’ll miss points throughout #But more time was spent on the flashback lights with little to no indication they were unreliable #When I replay Trigger Happy Havoc and Goodbye Despair I can find lots of foreshadowing for their end twists I didn’t at first #Opposite for V3. There is more time foreshadowing the fake stuff with the Gofer project and it just angers me on replays #and I get it lies and truth are the themes of V3 but this was such a poor way to go about it. You still need *satisfying* foreshadowing #What we get is a plot twist leaves you with the same energy as “it was all just a dream” endings—which sucks whether foreshadowed or not #And yes I get the message they were trying to send…it still comes off as a slap in the face and ruins investment #Yes there is evidence of the mastermind lying and it’s left ambiguous…but that admittedly feels like they didn’t want to commit #The fact the story only works if I interpret the mastermind as lying isn’t a good sign #Also I know insulting the fans wasn’t the intention but that’s very much what it comes across as regardless

People who act like characters are physically incapable of lying

Like they act like if a character says something its 100% true.

And like I underrated if its some super trustworthy, innocent character who says they didnt do something bad

But like sometimes characters lie.

#Danganronpa fans who insist there’s no possibility that the mastermind was lying at the end of V3 #If you want to interpret they were being 100% honest that’s fine but it was intentionally left ambiguous #The writers even confirmed they were meant to be an unreliable source and the survivors question their honesty in the epilogue for a reason #They also do this with Kokichi but it’s more of “he’s only lying when it fits my narrative about him”#AKA chapter 4 when they insist it’s canon he didn’t care at all about [spoiler] and was telling the truth when saying he faked his crying #Y’know in the same scene when he lied about loving the killing game #Also the Fire Emblem Three Houses fandom #where there’s this weird rule that “if a character says something negative about Rhea there’s no way they could be lying or mistaken”

I really hope the OP who submitted this (and the people agreeing with it) doesn’t equate “criticizing adaptation” with “harassing people for liking adaptation.” Because there are many adaptations that are worthy of criticism and I will make my thoughts known in my own lane and not be silent just because some people are assholes about it. You’re allowed to like the adaptation, I’m allowed to criticize it, we just shouldn’t harass each other.

This also goes for the reverse. People are allowed to criticize adaptations in their own lane without being harassed. And yes, the reverse does happen, I learned the hard way on a sideblog when I made a very mild criticism of an adaptation that was properly tagged and made sure not to attack fans or the creators but still got angry anons threatening me.

I stop reading defenses of Sakura Haruno the instant they start putting down Hinata. Yes, that includes when they say stuff like “I like Hinata but…” you aren’t fooling anyone.

We all go "liking a problematic character/villain doesn't mean we condone their actions or make us a bad person, which I agree, but we also need to say "hating a problematic character/villain (nor liking a morally good/heroic character) doesn't make you a good person."

Especially when so many people that claim to hate them, will do horrible shit that is, ironically, on par or worse than the villains they hate.

Is it just me or are fans more aggressive whenever you point out something in the fandom you don't like? It's always the same response:

"Write/Draw it yourself!" "That sounds like a YOU problem!" "Block tags and move on from it!"

Whether it's on this blog or on someone's own blog and they use the vent or rant tags to complain about something in a fandom, people instinctively just get so angry and sometimes it can go far as to outwardly mock and humiliate someone just because they're upset over something or try and shame them for having an opinion in the first place

It's really upsetting and it's why whenever I get upset over something, I never post it anywhere, because of this exact reason

It makes me laugh when TADC defenders (when trying to pretend it isn’t a problem that Gooseworx had to clarify a lot of important stuff on social media instead of putting it in the show itself) claim it’s only hated because it doesn’t spoonfeed the audience and is a masterclass at “Show Don’t Tell.” My dude, it barely does the “show” part of Show Don’t Tell. It NEITHER shows nor tells and that’s worse.

#KPDH fandom with Rumi and Celine #Persona 5 fandom with Yusuke and Madarame #This next one may be controversial but: Ace Attorney fandom with the Von Karma siblings and Manfred #Yeah Manfred was evil no doubt about that but the over the top abuse he inflicts on Miles and Franziska in fanfics…#Just feels a bit much??? I got the impression he was a more subtle abuser but capable of kind moments akin to the anime #I also imagine Miles and Franziska have more complicated feelings on MVK than how fanfics depict them as only ever fearing him from day 1

Korekiyo really did have a sick sister he’s dedicated to, he just was never in an incestuous relationship with her.

And Gonta really was raised by wolves like he initially claimed, not secretly Reptites.

I will forever hate Danganronpa 3’s asinine decision to revive all the dead Class 77-B students and refuse to accept it as canon.

“But the end of Danganronpa 2 said they might be revived!”

Implying that was a bad idea to begin with. When I was first playing chapter 6 of SDR 2 and the virtual world reveal happened, I was internally BEGGING that this wouldn’t mean the dead characters weren’t actually dead because that would’ve made everything seem like a waste of emotions so I was relieved when it was clarified otherwise because good, consequences stay. But nah 3 just had to spit in the face of that. I’d say that implying the dead students could be revived was Danganronpa 2’s biggest mistake which is saying something considering the everything in its chapter 3 it’s just horribly cheapening to revive them. It retroactively ruins Goodbye Despair replays for me because now I can shrug off the characters’ deaths as “oh well, they’ll wake up later” which is why I refuse to accept it as canon. No one can convince me this wasn’t an absolutely trash idea that should’ve stayed in the realm of fanfiction.
