“I will admit, I do somewhat miss the simplicity of solving a problem with casual murder,” Dorian sighed, waving his hand and the enchanted pen scribbled out another line on the floating sheet of parchment. “The blood was unpleasant, but it was rather succinct.” He glanced at the bill, frowned, and scratched out a line, revising it with a flick of his wrist.
“That little foray in the south really spoiled you, didn’t it?” Maevaris chuckled over her glass of sherry, as she read the paper stretched out in front of her, lounging on the fluffed up setee in her sitting room. “You’ve forgotten than in Minrathous, casual murder means quite a lot of paperwork, and we’re already up to our ears in it.”
“I know,” Dorian shook his head, “and it defeats the purpose of all of our legislation if we stoop to the level our enemies occupy. I’m just saying. It was at least straightforward.”
“I cannot argue with that,” Mae patted him on the shoulder, her parchment rolling up into her outstretched palm. “Let’s call it a night, hm? We’ll do more work with fresh eyes in the morning.”

I used a lot of The Art of Dragon Age The Veilguard concept art for their outfit, hat and headpiece ♥ Did you notice even their eyebrows are shaped like a snake?🤭🐍 They really enjoy snakes for their symbolism of both Tevinter and rebirth, completely getting rid of their past life as slave. Dressing up nicely so people cannot assume their social class as easily. They're nicknamed Ren ♥ The ship name with Neve & Elek is called Neverenelek🤭❤️

Also damn, the fact it took me nearly two year to draw these two in the same picture my gosh. Fun fact, I called Rokko "Rook" way before we even knew Rook would be the next protag. The leaked video featuring Rook's name was released a month or two after I created him😂 Rokko is a chef and fisherman that lived in Llomerrynn (Rivain). With the Antaam spreading there, he started leaving the shores more often with his ship and eventually started a wine business abroad. Tevinter and Orlais being his main clients. He met Dorian in Halamshiral during Trespasser! He was the cook for the Lucerni first, since they needed someone they could trust (to not get poisoned by people who could have been sent by their enemies). And then for the Shadow Dragons hehe Oh and the most important lore about Rokko: He's based on Kronk. Yup. Rook/Rokko was a way for me to make his name sound similar to that.😂

Anyone remembers Feynriel from Dragon Age II?👀 What if after almost two decades, he became a strong Somniari in Tevinter? Here he is, as a Shadow Dragon, with my two OCs: Aisling the blind Somniari (who can only see in the Fade), & his shapeshifter wife (always keeping an eye on him to guide him), Lusacan🥹

More story details: • Aisling Vatia Cassius is 88 by Dragon Age The Veilguard. An old, calm, and experienced Somniari who uses his power as a Fortune Teller in The Eyes of Nocen (eastern Tevinter, across the Nocen Sea from Minrathous). Helping fellow altus and magisters who want to reform the Magisterium (formerly the Lucerni, now Shadow Dragons) by spreading those ideals outside of Minrathous. • His wife, called Lusacan by her former master, was an elven slave used for blood rituals since she was a kid (parts of why she is so short for an elf). [She kept the name as a token of pride, since it's the name of one of the Tevinter Gods. People call her Granny Lusa though.] She managed to escape one day by turning into a rat and going out of her cage. She was rapidly found on the "market" again, and the Cassius family took her in to look after Aisling, since he was blind and needed assistance, when he wasn't wandering in the Fade. They fell in love when they were still young, despite the disapproval of many magisters for this union. Aisling can "see" only in the Fade, while being completely blind outside of it. When many turned down Feynriel when he asked for help controlling his powers, he saw a strength and potential in the young man, and took his training personally. Feynriel is almost like a grandson to him, now.
