They are the apples of their father’s eye and they have him and his demon wrapped around their little fingers. Spite adores both of them, something I never thought I’d ever write, but the demon I think dotes on them as much as we do. But they do not know what is to come for them and I only hope they understand why we must do this. Train them that is. Lucanis and I discussed it at length before we even considered children (we also had to explain to Spite about this too and he eventually understood and offered to assist and protect them, which was sweet. I really don’t think he is a demon any more.) Anyway, in our discussions, Lucanis told me what happened to his parents and their parents and all the blood related members of House Dellamorte - Back during the war of succession. He told me how Caterina harshly trained Illario and him to survive and become formidable Crows because of her fear to lose them too. and I understood it all.
