𓇢𓆸 ANEMONE  :  amberfig apartment complex.  

Amberfig Apartments used to be one of Monaco’s pride pieces, a sleek, refurbished old money building with warm lighting, polished floors, and a waiting list months long. Now it’s a place where the lights buzz too loudly, the taps run brown before they run clear, and the elevator groans like it’s carrying more weight than the people inside. Residents whisper that the building is dying, but no one can agree on what killed it. The latest headline didn’t help: a neighbor was arrested for a cold‑case crime, dragged out in handcuffs while the entire complex watched from their balconies. But for the residents of Amberfig, that’s barely the beginning. Faulty wiring, strange noises in the vents, doors unlocking themselves at night,  the building feels like it’s unraveling from the inside out.

HYDRANGEA, a practicing therapist with more secrets than coping strategies, has started hearing things through the walls during late‑night sessions, voices that don’t belong to any client. LARKSPIR, an aspiring artist, keeps waking to find new sketches in their notebook, drawn in a style that isn’t theirs. AFRICAN DAISY, a successful law student, has begun receiving case files slipped under their door, all tied to the same cold case their neighbor was arrested for. MAGNOLIA, the quiet chef, swears they’ve seen someone standing in the hallway at 3 a.m., even though the security cameras show nothing.

Despite everything, or maybe because of it,  the residents have begun forming a strange, reluctant found family. They share meals, compare notes, and keep watch for one another. Because something is happening inside Amberfig, something the building itself seems to be trying to reveal. And the residents are starting to realize that whatever their arrested neighbor was accused of… they might not have been the only one involved.

Amberfig was once a luxury. Now it’s a warning. And the people who live there are the only ones paying attention.

LARKSPIR:     open / poc.       A restless artist who moved into Amberfig for the “cheap rent and good light,” Larkspir is beginning to realize the building may be using them as much as they’re using it. Their sketchbooks are filled with drawings they don’t remember making,  hallways that don’t exist, faces they’ve never seen, symbols that repeat across pages. They tell themselves it’s stress, or sleepwalking, or some kind of creative breakthrough… but the sketches keep getting closer to their own apartment door. What is Larkspir running from?   

AFRICAN DAISY:     open / nb.       A sharp, ambitious law student who prides themself on logic and evidence, African Daisy is shaken when a particular case file is slipped under their door, all tied to the cold case their neighbor was arrested for. The documents contain details that were never made public, and some pages look freshly typed. If anyone lives in Monaco, they know things are not how they seem. They’re determined to figure out who’s sending them, but the deeper they dig, the more they suspect the building itself is trying to make them remember something they’ve never known.   

MAGNOLIA:     open.      A quiet chef who works late hours, Magnolia is used to coming home at odd times,  but not to seeing someone standing perfectly still in the hallway at 3 a.m.  Magnolia is brought back to their childhood and the spirits they forced in a locked box in the mind of their psyche. It can’t be happening again. They swear they saw someone. They’ve checked the security cameras, asked the neighbors, even filed a report, but the footage always shows an empty corridor. Magnolia tries to ignore it, but the figure keeps appearing… and lately, it’s been standing a little closer to their door.

In 2016, the Sfumato Society deployed four of its finest specialists into the restricted sectors of the Paris Catacombs. Their objective was to locate [REDACTED], a site rumored to exist deep within the unmapped, and far beyond the public tunnels.
