Loki's magic
With the green light that shows when we see Loki use magic, is that visible in universe, or is it just movie shorthand for magic?
And iirc there are instances where Loki uses his magic but there is no light. So, is this a thing that only happens by choice? Is it something Loki can control or not? Like maybe it's sloppy use of magic, or it happens when the magic is large or complex or takes a lot of effort? Or is it just different types of spell?

Loki has an interesting relationship with magic - his magic in particular. Asgard is a war-faring nation. Brute force and strength are heralded more than magic, long considered a feminine aspect. Loki's always felt like he was different in Asgard. Go figure that it was the Cask of Ancient Winters which proved to him why.
