I know I’ve never point blank mentioned this on here, but idk -- I need to talk about the importance Leto has in my life. She is in effect a divine mother and a motherly presence for me when I never really had that in my life. I’ve had my grandmother and a couple of aunts that are(were) very important and influential people in my life as family, but of course it’s different and not the same. Leto is a breath of fresh air in the relationship I have with her, never having a mother figure in my life at all as my “mother” was never a mother to me. I’ve grown up in the wringer thanks to her and everything she has done to me because I was not the child she wanted and she let me know that every day. I won’t dive further into it because that’s the past and I’ve moved beyond it in the present and going further into it would be unnecessarily depressing for the point of this post. 

My relationship with her involves the kindness befitting her domain as the goddess she is -- the mother. She is gentleness and care beyond comprehension as a straight arrow that will be there for anyone that needs and wants her brand of guidance and support. Leto is always there -- quiet, patient, and collected in the background waiting for the right time for everything. Whether that be a lesson and enlightening words or peace in her silence as she opens her arms to me -- something she has done so many times for so long. She knows it all and to me above all else always makes me think of the Strength card any time she is present regardless of whether she’s showing herself actively or hidden from my sight. 

Leto is all that kindness and gentleness has to offer -- all while being realistic in her standing that shows that while this is true it does not mean that it does not come with limits and knowing who has or has not earned it or deserves it. It’s knowing that you can be everything above and not going past limits and being a doormat for others -- that not every moment and situation is appropriate for it. Everything has a limit and that does not make one awful or a villain when kindness and gentleness has run out where others push,  harass past said limits, and demean (and so on). You can be there for others time and time again but if they will not help themselves or refuse to change and be better that maybe it’s time to drop them and leave. 

It’s not the end of the world and when I ask she is there, bright and lovely. Veiled from being perceived despite the blinding light she emits with all the support in the world at her feet. I asked her to be that force in my life -- my divine mother and without hesitance in a voice so soft and immeasurably certain she said yes. I have as mentioned above never had this before in my life so having the relationship I do with Leto is indescribable and I am thankful for it every day. I thought I didn’t need it for so long after feeling like I wouldn’t get it after all that time and knowing this flip is my security in everything I never had. Everything Leto has taught me about kindness and strength within myself and for others stays with me. She will not let me forget for too long, a reminder here and there as she keeps me on the path I want to stay on and leads me back to it with a hand so warm to the touch when I falter and get lost. 

Leto will always be one of the deities I find security in.

I also think about his great relationships with both his step moms Hera AND Leto (Leto was originally one of Zeus’ official, recognized brides, you can’t take this away from me). The two love him and spend a fair amount of time with him, having a mutual affection between them.
