Hannibal review Thomas Harris’s main work, the Hannibal series consists of 4 novels (Hannibal Rising, The Red Dragon, The Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal) each written in an individual style, making us sympathizing with the serial killers who are introduced in the books, but at the same time, giving us the deepest fears. In these books, brutality and murder are shown of a side, of which you can’t help but reconsider your opinion about others, facing the fact that you can not always know what happens in others’ minds or cellars… Harris has only 5 memorable books, but still very much people know the name and the story of the character he created, „Hannibal the cannibal”. The character is a psychiatrist who is incredibly intelligent, a perfect gentleman, who is able to commit the perfect crime, and slaughter dozens with even a butter-knife. We can also take a look at the struggle of the police, investigating almost hopelessly, leaning on every little slippery detail and proof. Unfortunately, Thomas Harris is not as famous as he should be (in my view). He is a really talented author, with a great sense of literature and his work is fascinating. I would like others (who are brave enough for the bloody parts) to read the books, because it shows us, that perfection doesn’t exist, and everybody has mistakes, even those, who seem to be flawless. It shows us that everybody can be loved apart from their troubles, and at the same time, warns us that we can not completely trust anybody. Shows us the „good” and the „bad” of different angles and views.

Hannibal: Artistic Shots (S2:E2)
i watched hannibal *spoilers*
I WATCHED ALL OF HANNIBAL WITHIN 24 HOURS AND I HAVE NEVER MARATHONED ANY AMERICAN SHOW BEFORE. I wanted to throw up a lot when I watched. The overall experience was really uncomfortable, but I just kept watching because I wanted to know what happened. Hannibal moves slowly and then just falls like an avalanche. Here are some thoughts I have on the show. There are critiques, spoilers, and unedited thoughts. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. WHY didn't anyone expect hannibal to be even SLIGHTLY SUSPECT? man serves weird ass organs to everyone at his dinner party, takes out a young brother like no big deal, and like five of his connections all die within a short period. HMMM. Review notes: Cinematography is beautiful, sound effects and soundtrack are perfectly eerie and elegant. Acting is top notch and the writing is interesting. All the major male characters are well developed. Will and Hannibal, as main characters, obviously have a lot of scenes that show their characters' thought processes, values, and development. Jack Crawford gets a whole relationship/marriage character arch and over the series we learn how he feels responsible for his team, but is also a manipulator who plays people, like Will Graham, when he needs them and then shifts the blame off and avoids consequences. But then we come to the ladies, and for the most part they just be hanging on the sides. Alana is the nice lady who likes Will a lot and is a caring person. She is really boring. Beverly is super hot and sassy, AND cares about other people. She is also way smarter than everyone else working at the FBI. Abigal is messed up from her dad and is a manipulative liar. And that's pretty much the ladies. I wish the female characters had more relevance than contributing a bit of field knowledge at the crime scene and magically coming to comfort Will every time he's having a freakout. Oh, and there's Hannibal's therapist who is obviously going to be really important next season but I can't even recall her name because all she does is be like, "hannibal, how are you feeling? stop being friends with will that is gonna be bad. okay lets drink wine." Last bit -- the show is really violent, gratuitously violent. It's about serial killers so killing and gore are expected, but I've never seen any TV shows like this where there is specifically so much violence against women. Here are some females who have violence acted upon them: 1. The 7th Missing Girl in Minnesota (I forgot her name, sorry) 2. Cassie Boyle 3. Mrs. Hobbs 4. Abigal Hobbs 5. Marissa 6. Lost Boys’ mothers (x2) 7. Woman from the hotel 8. The Nurse from the Psych Hospital 9. Miriam Lass 10. Georgia Mädchen 11. Beth LeBeau 12. Freddie Lounds' arrest scene was pretty violent 13. Lost boys' "mom" arrest was also shaky Security Alarm woman There are also many males who get killed, too: 1. Hobbs 2. Sutcliffe 3. Tobias 4. Franklin 5. The Trombonist 6. Gideon's Psychiatrists x 2 7. Nic Boyle 8. Joel Summers 9. Security guard 10. Angel Maker 11. Man from hotel These lists are from my head, so they are probably inaccurate. First I want to emphasize, I’m not playing a numbers game. I’m NOT saying, oh, look x number of women had violence shown against them and y number of men is smaller. I feel like violence acted upon the female characters was often shown more graphically; their remains were not just displayed, but we saw the re-enactment of violence upon them through Will's mind. Yeah, a lot of the men were shown attacked as well, but it was almost always a short period of violence where the action was limited to quick brawls, slices or stabs. Gideon's psychiatrist, who is disemboweled, and Nic Boyle probably have the longest scenes of violence. We saw young women bleeding, taking stab wounds, combusting, getting their eyes gorged, getting shot, stabbed, and displayed naked on stag horns for goodness sake. The violence against women combined with the general lack of development of these characters relegates women to mere plot devices that elicit shock from the viewer. I am disappointed because women in Hannibal are mere conveniences or supports to the main male characters. They themselves never reach even near the level of development as the males in the show. _______ Ok I’m done. So Hannibal comes back in two weeks, right? That's good yo 'CEPT THERE ARE SEVEN SEASONS PLANNED so 6 remaining x 13 episodes = 78 HOURS UNTIL WE FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS. I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN BE THAT INVESTED IN THIS. If you read this far, wow, thanks. :)
