Pick a language you want to learn: Personally, I started out with HTML and CSS. I recommend if you want to do web design HTML and CSS are good languages to start with. Otherwise, start with JavaScript or Python.

Find Resources: Basically you want to look at videos on YouTube, and take classes that have coding like AP CSP, AP CS A (harder class), Digital Information Technology, etc. You can also attend classes outside in the summer like CodeNinjas and use websites like code.org, freeCodeCamp, and Codecademy. Also, ask your friends for help too! You can find communities on Reddit and Discord as well.
3. Start Practicing: Practice slowly by doing small projects like making games for websites and apps. You can work with friends if you are still a beginner or need help. There's also open-source coding you can do!
4. Continue coding: If you don't continue, you will lose your skills. Be sure to always look up news on coding and different coding languages.
5. Certifications: If you are advanced in coding or want to learn more about technology, you can do certifications. This can cost a lot of money depending on what certification you are doing. Some school districts pay for your certification test. But if you take the test and pass, you can put it on your resume, and job recruiters/interviewers will be impressed! This can help with college applications and show initiative if you want a computer science degree. This shows you are a "master" of the language.

Ayo, someone by the name of Curly-B-Blog is redlining art of yours from 2020 (while pretending that it's actually Sai Scribble's work), and kind of being a dick about it. just thought you should know.
You know, originally I was just gonna brush it off, but then I went back to look at my old SU art from 2020 and did so much self reflection from then till now.
I think this was around the time I was just learning how to do perspective and tried to use the perspective tool on Procreate for the first time? :0 and I remember telling Sai “Sai I have this STUPID idea, I CANT believe it this stupid joke it’s so DUMBBBB, it’s living rent free in my BRAIN I SWEAR THIS IS GONNA BE SO STUPID DCIUWHEFIUWHIRFUIW4F” and being super excited to show her the finished product. People still think Sai created the Cursed Skin Gloves comic and I think it’s hilarious wjhwnuhwijwuiw
The comic was received very well and it made LOTS of people laugh and I’m still proud of this comic to this very day! :D and tbh if it wasn’t for my obsession for Sai’s Switcheroo AU I never would have found my passion in comic work! (love you you stinky hoe @saiscribbles 🩷)
HOWEVER…. I definitely still had lots to learn! I wasn’t very good at perspective at the time I’ll admit, but I was definitely having lots of fun learning :3
And throughout the past 4 years, ALOT has happened.
I graduated from college with TWO fancy pieces of expensive papers in Visual Development in Animation and Illustration learning from Will Kim and Jeff Soto, and as a I was working with the funny voice man Cougar MacDowall as a comic/story artist and reached in total around 7 million views for my fan series FNAF Security Malware Breached (it was even #21 on the trending list around the time of my birthday 🩷 what a lovely gift), had an insane opportunity to work with Mike Geno and with the voice cast from The Amazing Digital Circus for a fan song as a background and character asset artist, Vivienne Medrano liking and sharing my silly Overlord Husk AU comics, currently on my route to getting my certificate from Aaron Blaise’s Character design program and graduating from Marc Brunet Art School, and now I am completing my first year as professional colorist and art assistant for my storyboard and comic mentor Michelle Lam, aka Mewtripled! (Also I’ll be heading out to Lightbox Expo 2024 on October 26 with Michelle and the team so if y’all ever wanna meetup hahahajaj wink wink wink wink wink)

Learn from everyone and everything! Yes, even then mean ones too! If you can learn to work with anyone, I promise you’ll get to where you want to be faster. People can be a little mean on the internet, but that shouldn’t stop you from being where you want to be in the future. I’m so EXTREMELY grateful for all the opportunities and to all the kind professionals who were willing to give me a chance. Seriously, I’m so graciously thankful for everything, and I hope everyone here will support me and my silly little comics I will do now and in the future!

I'd like to ask you some questions about homeschooling, if you have the time. I'm also asking other people here to get a broader picture.
I am a first-year primary (elementary) public school teacher, working a fixed-term job after having a year as an on-the-job training teacher, one year on supply and two years as a teaching assistant.
In England, where I am, newly qualified teachers are given a two-year package of extra mentoring and training.
The result is that I am getting a lot of training and CPD on things like child development, the science and psychology of learning, pedagogy and curriculum design.
Now to the crux of the matter. One of the reasons I got into teaching was with the view to supporting homeschooling families, and I felt I needed the piece of paper, so to speak, and the understanding of the field.
In a homeschooling context, what was 'teacher training', for want of a better word, look like? I know that people can print off maths worksheets and do writing and cooking projects. I know of some families who download pre-written curriculums and others who write their own. I know that one of the big advantages of homeschooling is that you can go at your child's pace instead of having to rush them through a curriculum they aren't ready for.
I suppose my question is . . . in a homeschooling context, where do parents get the pedagogy from? Where do they learn about how children learn, and how to tell a poorly-written curriculum from a well-written one? How do they learn how to design their own lessons, learning opportunities and curriculums? How does mentoring and training other homeschoolers look like, and what kind of pedagogical support do homeschooling families generally need?
What about parents who need or want to homeschool, but who don't have the knowledge or the skills?
These are the kinds of families I want to support in about a decade or so, maybe less.
What kind of advice might you have for me?

They learn it from a variety of sources, really. There are far more homeschooling resources out there than most people realize, especially if they’ve never looked into it. Most approaches are grounded in well established learning theories. Parents aren’t just making things up as they go.
A big part comes from the curriculum itself. Homeschool programs don’t just outline what to teach, many also provide guidance on how to teach it. Many families also join homeschool groups or co-ops, where certain subjects are taught by other adults who have more experience or a strong teaching approach in that area. This provides academic support and opportunities for collaboration.
There’s experience as well. Parents tend to know their children and they don’t need formal training in learning styles to recognize what works and what doesn’t. There’s often a lot of trial and error, but it usually becomes clear pretty quickly whether a method or curriculum is effective.
Formal teaching qualifications aren’t necessary because homeschooling isn’t a standardized classroom environment. Parents aren’t managing 20 students they are just working with their own children. In many cases, they act more as guides while the curriculum provides much of the direct instruction.
It’s not about being an expert in every subject or building lesson plans from scratch. It’s about creating a strong learning environment and choosing methods and materials that fit the child. It can definitely be challenging, and support is important, but formal certification isn’t necessary because the structure is fundamentally different.
I think it’s great you are interesting in supporting homeschooling families and I don’t really know how it works over in England but the best advice I can give in this scenario is just to really delve into the environment if you want to be able to provide support. Find homeschool groups to get introduced to families and gain a better understanding of the process and that way you can gain insight into how you can best offer support.
