Concordia First 24hrs Update
First of all — thank you all so much for the support so far. Reaching 200+ followers in less than 12 hours is honestly incredible, and we’re really excited to work on something that can help this community.
As a small thank you, we wanted to share a sneak peek at some of the features we’re currently planning for Concordia!
Have a plan, keep it simple and stick to it.
I love open-source development. You check out the website and they show the most weeb-ass anime girl PFP titled “jayboy98 - lead developer”

Hello there!
so, here's the deal:
I, a burnt out autistic highschooler, want to create an app for therians (as a therian myself).
Here's the basic features:
A database full of information on as many animals as possible (that can and will be updated!)
Blank templates for otherkins!
Each user has a profile- public or private- and can add theriotypes and notes about those theriotypes!
A journal feature where you can add pictures, drawings, and notes to a digital journal, similar to a glorified notes app lol- and you can make certain parts of your journal public or private!
Packs!
What are packs?
Have some word soup as an explanation: Basically if you want to create a pack to either make friends or add your friends, you can submit a pack request, where you explain why you want to make a pack and if you have specific people in mind to join, and I'm thinking that I don't want it to be like everyone has their own pack or whatever so that's why it has to be approved and stuff like I don't want too many different packs. Basically it's like a discord server or an amino thingy it's a big group chat and the pack creators can set up virtual events and send out pings like "hey! Join this zoom call if you wanna do some arts and crafts!!" Or smth like that
It's a database and a community!! If you would like to help out, please please please send an ask!! I would love all the support I can get!
P.S.
BE NICE AND DRINK WATER
Hey you guys. Yes you, the people following me.
As you may or may not know. I’m a software developer. With my schoolin’ wrapping up soon, I’m anticipating more time for myself and my own projects. And one such idea I’ve been sitting on, just waiting for the skills and time for, has been a social media site.
My main (gender ambiguous) man @quins-makeshift-menagerie has long since expressed a desire for a site that genuinely puts human creativity in front of corporate interest and overcomes the annoyances of other sites. This matters most for creatives and people sick of the algorithmic, privacy violating, predatory advertising and AI-first direction that the centralized internet is taking. Instead I want to build something that is centered on incubating human creativity, community led decision making, and providing an island that feels more like the internet once did. I’m hoping others agree.
What I would love from y’all, dear viewers, is any input at this early planning stage. I want to know what you think works great, and what doesn’t work, and what you’d like to see when it comes to social media. This can be UI/UX, functionality, content moderation, tech stack (if you’re so inclined), niche features, or even general design/appearance tips.
Pls and thx
Less about your thoughts on AI.. more… What are your thoughts on Agile, scrum, and things like pair programming/mobbing/software teaming. I’m the only person on the creative team in a company with a bunch of gen x + baby boomer software engineers and holy crap agile is a joke at this point. I prefer the pair/mob programming approach and how collaborative it is unless you need to pull teeth to get higher ups in the room. which even then I like cuz i feel like it cuts a lot of back and forth and they get a better sense of what’s actually possible from the team. I of course actually just draw stupid pictures and do motion design. But I’m in the room too cuz sometimes it is relevant and the departments do learn a lot from working directly with eachother. Anywho. u got any thoughts on it? pros/cons. jokes shitting on agile feel out of date at this point but they’re so good.
As a Product Manager in an Agile environment, I am *very* aware many people feel like I have a "fake email job". In fact, most of the PMs I have worked with in my career have been useless, because they prefer to engage with the process and not the actual work. Too many have no idea what their product even does.
Capacity, velocity, MVPs and their iteration are very useful concepts in Agile. But none of it matters if you can't prioritize the work in the face of competing stakeholders, and that is usually where any product management process fails. People are very, very bad at saying "no" to those who hold power over them. And a huge part of being a good PM is learning how to do this.
Pairing and mobbing are used in Agile and are like any group project -- they only work when everyone involved is curious and puts in effort. At my job, we pair based on the needs of the ticket, but always mob for the big stuff, like pushing updates to prod. (And I shadow a lot of the time to better understand my team and product.)
I hope this doesn't come off as a wishy-washy answer. I've done both Agile and Waterfall, and both fail when leadership lacks the ability to prioritize and set a definition of "done", and managers prefer to check boxes instead of engaging with their team/product.
Jokes shitting on Agile are really just shitting on people who would be bad in any development environment.
