Astrology Observations Part 17
💗 Your Venus aspects to the planets in your natal chart, and the houses those planets occupy, can indicate the qualities you naturally appreciate or love about yourself. Challenging or afflicted aspects may suggest difficulty fully accepting or embracing those parts of yourself.
💌 Venus in the 12th house in a Solar Return chart can indicate having a secret admirer whom you aren't even aware of. The sign and aspects can describe what qualities they admire most about you, the admirer's own traits, and how they express their affection indirectly.
💒 Virgo Venus 9th house likes their aesthetic or lifestyle surrounded by philosophical or religious views though they may become too strict about it and doesn’t like when someone criticizes their personal beliefs. Too judgmental about someone’s personal beliefs or how they deal with life. May only hang out with people who has the exact same views as them (it’s giving that a Christian should also marry another Christian type of relationships).
💛 Leo deals with isolation just as much as Aquarius, but in a different way. Even though Leo placements are highly noticeable and ruled by the Sun, they are not always truly seen for who they are beneath the light, because the light itself can be blinding (metaphorically). They may often feel unseen in regard to their shadow side and how they cope with things privately, because they may unconsciously perform or create an image that causes people to project assumptions or fantasies onto them.
🧊 Aquarius placements are often perceived as emotionless, but in reality, they do have feelings. Their own emotions simply tend to get pushed aside or neglected because they absorb other people's emotions or energies (which is why Aquarius is symbolized as the Water Bearer). What they absorb depends on their placements and aspects. For example, an Aquarius Moon conjunct Pluto may absorb other people's childhood pain and negative emotions while neglecting their own childhood wounds and emotions. As a result, they may present an emotionless front because they don't want to contribute any more pain or negativity to humanity, reflecting Aquarius' humanitarian nature.
👒 Libra Moons are often emotionally dependent on their mothers unless the Moon is heavily afflicted. I’ve noticed they usually seem closer to, or prefer, their mothers over their fathers. They also tend to seek emotional validation from their mother, women in general, or female authority figures.
🎭 8th house synastry can create deeply polarizing feelings toward another person. What you consciously feel about them may be the opposite of what you subconsciously feel, making it difficult to trust your own emotions. It's like saying you hate someone when, deep down, you actually care without realizing it. Or you might believe you're completely comfortable with them while secretly feeling suspicious or guarded. There's always another side of the coin, making it difficult to fully understand your feelings for one another.
💍 8th house synastry also gives the impression of two people who are bound together through some kind of contract, whether they want to be or not. This commonly appears between classmates, coworkers, teammates, or anyone who has to remain connected until a shared obligation ends. These are often the kinds of people who probably wouldn't have become friends or lovers if they hadn't been forced into each other's lives. They're together during intense or difficult periods, but once the obligation ends, they may not care much about maintaining a casual connection. It also resembles a forced marriage.
💘 "Love is the catalyst, not the reward."
Whenever I think about 8th and 12th house synastry, and why the people you loved the most are often the same people who hurt you the most, I'm reminded of the Greek myth of Psyche and Eros. Psyche's transformation, and her association with the butterfly, is one of my favorite metaphors. In order to become a butterfly, you must undergo metamorphosis: from an egg, to a caterpillar, to a chrysalis, and finally to a fully emerged butterfly. The entire process of becoming through transformation fueled by love is beautifully personified through Psyche in this myth.
🐴 I’ve noticed that people with heavy placements in private houses (like the 12th or 8th), when paired with Sagittarius placements, often feel less shame about expressing those hidden parts of themselves. They seem to have a kind of blissfulness or impulsiveness that makes it less of an issue for them.
🎁 People with Sagittarius in the 12th house (empty or not) in their solar return may get what they always wanted, but in the long run they begin to regret it or may not have expected the cost of it afterward.
🌕 Having the Moon in the 1st house of a Solar Return chart can indicate finally feeling seen or vindicated after being wronged, misunderstood, or villainized in the past. This can be a year in which you feel loved, appreciated, and recognized by others, almost as if people begin seeing your innocence or acknowledging that you were the victim in a situation. The specific sign and aspects will influence how this manifests.
❓ Lilith in the 1st house may experience depersonalization-like patterns. No matter how much they try to change themselves, people may still find ways to make them feel like an outcast. They may tend to fantasize about being a different person or having a different body, one that matches how they see themselves and how they want others to see them, so they can finally experience the respect or recognition they crave.
They may develop insecurities about their gender and may even blame it as the reason they feel limited. For example, Lilith in the 1st house women may feel jealous of men, perceiving them as having more control, while Lilith in the 1st house men may feel jealous of women, believing they are judged less for expressing femininity.
They may try to fit in, but doing so can come at the cost of their self-worth and self-respect. This can leave them feeling like they are losing their individuality, morphing into someone they don’t want to be, just to be accepted by others. Over time, they may develop resentment toward people they feel they cannot be authentic around.
❌ Lilith in the 1st house opposite the Moon in the 7th house loves their freedom as much as they love being with the people they care about, but they know they need to choose which path they should prioritize. I notice that the people around them don’t really approve of their personal choices because they feel like they always have to keep up with them in order to stay connected to them. This also gives the vibe of a disorganized attachment style (no need to label/diagnose it).
💫 The later the degree (especially 20°-29°) of a placement, the more emotionally numb and unstable its expression can become. Whether that ultimately manifests in a constructive or destructive way depends on the person's choices and how they channel that energy.
💼 A 22° placement can give “rushing a deadline” vibes.
💢 Mars/Aries in the 12th house may be secretly grudgeful and vengeful, but they rarely act on it because they feel too exhausted or helpless. However, their anger and willpower shouldn’t be underestimated, repressed anger can become more dangerous when bottled up, and they may be more likely to direct it toward others before turning it on themselves.
👪 Saturn conjunct Neptune in the 4th house may indicate that at some point they felt the people they considered family were not really on their side or did not protect them the way they needed. This can cause their illusions about family or social circles to break, leading them to view close bonds in a more realistic and self-protective way.
🌊 Water signs in the 12th/8th house may have a tendency to emotionally neglect others while still craving someone who will emotionally care for them. This is not always fair, but the reason they withhold their care is because they feel they would give someone everything the moment they become comfortable, so it seems fair in their eyes. This can also give the impression of an avoidant attachment style.
⭐ Having prominent placements in our chart doesn’t mean we fully embody them or that we are that sign or placement. Rather, they point to what we’re supposed to learn, develop, or do in that area of life.
