does anyone have any tips for learning Hebrew? I'm learning it on my own and nobody I know speaks it
Moments like this are why I teach Hebrew.
Marietta wore this necklace for years without knowing what it said. A necklace shaped like Israel, made from a rocket fired into the land, carrying Hebrew words on it. “Am Yisrael Chai.”
And then one day she read it herself. “Am Yisrael Chai” = “The People of Israel live”
Not through translation. Not through someone else. But through her own eyes, her own learning, her own connection to the language.
There is something incredibly powerful about that moment. Hebrew stops being distant and suddenly becomes personal, alive, and deeply yours. These are the moments that stay with people forever.
Thank you for sharing your journey with me Marietta ❤️

Favorite resources for learning Hebrew? I never learned growing up and my work schedule doesn’t allow me to attend classes regularly so I will eventually need to hire a private tutor but until I find one I’m on my own re learning.

Hey ישראבלר and jumblr! Do any of you speak Yiddish? I'm considering learning it, but I feel like I need a good reason to. It'd be really cool if one of y'all out there knows Yiddish and wants to learn Hebrew, so we could teach each other!
(If you just wanna learn Hebrew and don't know any Yiddish I'd still be glad to be your conversation partner, I'm Israeli and Hebrew is my first language.)
Either way, Shabbat shalom everyone 💙🤍
Anyone have any good ways of learning Hebrew? Is Duolingo worth it? I’ve heard it’s okay for some languages and bad for others, does anyone know if it’s any good for Hebrew? And if it’s not, what is a good alternative?
You can now learn languages with LangGuessr! Pick your level from 1 to 20, from the most common to the most obscure words, translate the words you know and memorise the ones you don't.
This is a learning method I developed to work best for myself, if it works for any of you then all the better!
