Lou Lou has been so desperately seeking these little reminders of home, a source of comfort when so much has been taken from her, and it's a painful twist that that's what kills her in the end. Because the arena is cruel and unnatural, and twists the nature of things.
I'm more surprised she didn't go for the water on the way over, she must've gotten thirsty before she got hungry.
But maybe her handlers would play loud noises if she tried to go for it, or the food, and now they're not doing that, so she mistakenly thinks it's safe.
They didn't punish her for singing, even though it gave away that she was from 11, but they're still not allowing her her own name. Even though it doesn't really matter at this point if the other tributes learn it - they already know that she's not really Louella, and there's no one else they could tell unless they happen to win.
