And I don't base that just on the fact that they're both mean blondies. It's a broad type, of course, and all of those characters will be similar in some ways, but they'll still be quite different. There's something interesting here.
Camille is what Chloe would have been like if she had been raised by Audrey - and I'm not taking into account any new information, there are no new seasons of mlb, neither is Zoe (not to hate, but I don't perceive her). Camille is almost Chloe, but with a more developed vulnerable and traumatized side. If Chloe had been under the yoke of the domineering and cruel Audrey, she would have suffered more and been more unhappy and lonely.
Chloe is what Camille would have been like if she had grown up with permissiveness. Less stress, more self-confidence. She would have believed in her own arrogant words more if she didn't have a domineering figure over her.
They are similar in how they are the "miserable inside" kind of mean blondies. Not the girls who are okay with nothing, just evil, or just flirty and cheerful - they have this fragile side, their pain from loneliness, the heaviness of their own character, and real mother issues. They both strive to be better people and make friends (and I'm denying the new mlb series again). That's why it seemed appropriate to compare them like that. They literally reflect versions of themselves that they would have been if they had been raised in opposite circumstances.
If I caper a bit, they both live in Paris, have similar hairstyles, both have red-haired girl friends nearby and Chloe used to do ballet too! There's definitely something to that, one way or another, lol
Do you like Newsies? Do you like graphic novels? Do you wish there were more-- or, like, any-- female Newsie characters in the Disney franchise? Then boy, oh boy, do I have a book for you!
Newsprints by Ru Xu follows a teenage girl named Lavender, who goes by the name "Blue" so that she can live with the other newsboys in town. Her life is pretty routine until Blue meets Crow, a strange boy who doesn't talk. Blue is determined to befriend Crow, but as she does, she slowly begins to realize that he might not be entirely human...
I would describe this book as Newsies (1992) meets Leap! (2016) because of the whole forbidden-experimental-inventions-in-a-hidden-warehouse thing. Come for the art and stay for the characters!
Leap!/Ballerina is soo underrated like i wish there was more content of it i might just start writing for it
I already have a fic idea. It takes place post movie, it would be about Félicie adjusting to her new lifestyle as a ballerina and as Odette and Louis' adoptive daughter, maybe even Camille is also under their care after Madame Le Haut's death (bc there's NO WAY she survived that fall and being crushed by scaffolding)
The first chapter would be Camille learning to grief while taking a break from ballet to focus on her actual likes and hobbies and sort out what she actually wants in life without her mother's strings puppeteering her
What do we think, remaining 6 Leap/Ballerina fans?
This one was my brother's idea and I gotta admit it was worth trying! It took me really long because I didn't use a reference, so I had to figure out the poses and other things myself. Also, I discovered while drawing this that I couldn't draw ripples! Then I discovered that there was already a ripple effect in ibisPaint X! Then I discovered that I didn't know how to use it! 😐 Anyway, I hope you enjoy as much as I did while making it. I couldn't track of the writing time because I was coughing and talking with my colleagues simultaneously at work while writing this but I assume it took me about 30 minutes and the drawing took me 3 hours and 17 minutes.
Merante: 113.5
Odette: 113.5
Merante and Odette were walking along the bank of the Seine on a rainy evening. It hadn't been raining when they left home, but now a gentle drizzle fell with a soothing, harmonious rhythm. Merante opened his umbrella, holding it over both of them as they continued their leisurely walk.
At home, Félicie was practicing with Victor by her side. Victor visited them often—or perhaps not 'them', but specifically Félicie. He had earned a fully funded scholarship to a boarding school in Paris thanks to his invention, the 'Pigeon Wings'. Félicie attended the same school, but instead of living in the dormitory, she stayed with Odette and Merante, the three of them finally living together as a happy family.
"I feel like I'm dreaming, Louis," Odette said as she moved a little closer to him to escape the increasingly heavy rain.
"Me too," Merante replied with a soft chuckle.
He noticed tears glistening in her eyes. Bathed in the crimson light of the setting sun, she looked almost ethereal.
"Why are there tears in your eyes, darling?" he asked gently.
Odette sniffled and brushed them away with the back of her hand.
"These are happy tears, Louis. Happy tears," she said, emphasizing the last two words.
"I can't believe this is really happening. I'm walking along the river with you. I don't have to clean at Regina's mansion anymore, and I have Félicie... My life is complete, Louis."
"Félicie..." Merante smiled. "She's a little version of you, isn't she? Graceful, brave, hardworking, and..." He paused.
"And?" Odette asked curiously.
"And she has your temper." He raised an eyebrow with a teasing grin.
"I think she's more like you. Determined, intelligent, confident... and incredibly stubborn."
Merante burst into laughter.
"I have to admit, you're not wrong! She's one stubborn little thing!"
Odette let out a contented sigh and slipped her hand into his.
"I must have done something good in my life," she whispered. "Otherwise, I wouldn't have been blessed with all of this."
She tightened her grip around his arm.
Merante gently rested his head against hers.
"Of course you did, mon amour. Of course you did."
He couldn't find any other words. None seemed worthy of the moment.
So they simply kept walking beneath the umbrella, hand in hand, while the rain fell around them—as though nature itself were shedding tears of joy for the life they had finally found together.

a thing that kinda would’ve been cool to see from leap is a camille conclusion where she is really impressed over victor’s pigeon wings and gets inspiration to become an inventor herself or something. cause though i feel like dancing would still be a big part of her life, given that it’s not entirely her first choice really, at least in some way she would find a little bit of passion for gadgets or anything else for that matter
