“so good… ah, give me more!” a desperate demand that would fall on laito’s ears from the kitchen, smiling almost fondly, the two wine glasses clinking softly in his grasp as he grabbed a bottle of aged red wine.
the taste of blood coating yui’s tongue made her body shiver and light up in delight, salivating as the hot liquid ran down her throat, her thirst unwavering. she leans in again to lap at the puncture wounds decorating the man’s throat, moaning and gasping at her newfound appetite that seems never to subside.
this one was just the appetizer, the next two would be there later that evening.
the reborn bride sat hovered over the stranger’s lap, tugging at his dress shirt before ripping it open to reveal more untainted flesh beneath. his pulse had long since weakened, barely faint, unconscious from her first attack on the back of his nape. yui was even surprised to hear a heartbeat, tracing over his chest where his failing heart struggled to stay alive.
just like how her heart was a week earlier, warm, beating, and full of life until her inevitable awakening.
and now, as yui sits before yet another victim ensnared in her relentless trap of luring people to their doom. with being a newborn comes an insatiable hunger, painful and nearly debilitating if there's no blood to feast on. one after the other, she finally grasped how easily humans could die, how fragile and utterly powerless they are as the light dims from their eyes—so much so that it almost made her want to tear them apart with her own hands and relish in their misery.
the groom emerged within a blink of an eye, taking a seat next to the man who’s stealing all of yui’s undivided attention. “oh, don’t tell me you’ve killed this one already, my dear bride?”
his voice was playful despite the tinge of jealousy brewing beneath the surface. she laughed breathlessly, her eyes wide and blissful as she gazed in awe at the dying human below her.
“he’s barely clinging to life…” yui slurred, her words thick with bloodlust, trembling from feverish chills. “i didn’t think it would happen so fast with this one…”
her tongue darted out to catch the droplet that slipped from the corner of her mouth before she murmured with a sly smile. “he was quite delicious, this one.”
the newborn vampire speaks in a daze, her sharp fingernails digging into his chest and dragging down along his torso, dark red bleeding out from the deep scratches.
laito remains silent, watching in quiet amusement as she licks her blood-stained lips, almost drooling at the pungent smell of blood filling her nose and making her exhale contentedly.
“i really can't get enough…” she said, tossing her head back and turning to face her husband with a wicked grin. “it's a feeling i never knew could exist—so addictive.”
green eyes slint in satisfaction, his lips curling up even higher.
she really had fallen, huh?
laito had tainted yui—the version of the girl she used to be when she arrived at the sakamaki manor had long died before she became a vampire. months of molding, tearing down any sense of humanity she had left, leaving her as a ghost, a shell of herself. that poor girl was never a match for a devil like him, falling victim to his hands long before any of his brothers could claim her.
how lucky he was. how lucky she was to have him love no one else but her.
and now, they can be monsters together.
laito possessively pulled her from the human and settled her onto his lap, his hands caressing the thighs that framed him. “are you finished paying attention to a dead man?” his voice carried a sharp edge beneath his mask, making yui giggle again.
playfully, she threw her arms around his shoulders, twirling a strand of his red-brown hair between her fingers.
“oh, laito. there’s no need to be jealous,” she teased, catching sight of her wedding ring. “you are my one and only…”
she flashed the back of her hand to show the beautifully encased diamond ring stained in red. “this is proof of our eternal love.”
