Day 5/60 of learning conversational Korean because I made a bet with my friend, loser buys malatang 🍜 Total Hours Spent: 5

I made 3 pages of basic notes. Now that I can read the alphabet and learned pronunciation rules, I stopped romanizing my words. Also I got down some basic vocab, more basic phrases that I can use to clarify speaking with Korean people, and grammar rules. Specifically "to be" and Subject/Object particles

My plan is to go home and do some messing around on google translate where i make up my sentences and see if I wrote them right. Then i'm gonna talk to myself a little and narrate my day the best i can

😲 WHAT DO I CALL THIS IN KOREAN? 😲

I've been living in Korea for over 3 years but to be honest, I don't particularly know a lot of things. Especially things that I don't have to mention, ever, I don't find it necessary to learn the names, which turned out to be troublesome sometimes.

I went out to get my daily dose of tea a few days ago, it is winter here so of course I picked the hot one and then asked for a straw (빨대) because they didn't give me one. And of course, they gave me the big, chunky, normal straw, not the small and flat one. I had to describe to them again what I wanted and then they went "Oh, you mean the 십스틱".

Needless to say, I learned something new that day.
