I finished my upper kitchen cabinet! Plz ignore the unfinished plaster, my wrist is sprained so I could only get through the bare minimum necessary for install.

It is a very old beat-up mizuya tansu from Hashima, with the same unusual mitred joinery as the big kaidan tansu that it shares the kitchen with. It was designed to sit on the floor and to come apart into two halves for transport, so it needed a ton of reinforcement to hang on the wall in one piece like that. I also had to replace the metal rails and casters in the sliding doors, and made new drawer slides out of hard maple. There's an outlet inside the upper compartment that will eventually power all the lights. The lower drawer fronts will eventually be converted to flip-down doors to make little cubbies for napkins/cuttlery/table condiments.
