hi wait it’s literally june but consider this:
christmas themed zukka au where iroh is a volunteer santa claus at the mall and makes zuko be his elf
(and yes. he’s gotta wear the hat with the felt ears and the pointy shoes with the bells on the toe. and probably the green and red stripped leggings too)
sokka has to chaperone katara and her mallrat friends a couple times each week much to his displeasure. he’d rather be studying for his chem final next month
katara aang and toph make quick work of losing nerdboy sokka while they go fuck around at like. spencer’s (not cool, ‘tara, you’re still a baby! gross!)
so he spends the whole time talking at the massively grumpy elf and refuses to fuck off because he loves it when he can get zuko so mad he starts blushing between his overlarge elf ears
zuko also blushes when sokka flirts shamelessly with him because A) uncle is right there and B) cute boys in nerdy christmas sweaters make him A Little Stupid
at some point hakoda and bato notice that sokka stopped complaining about having to babysit a gaggle of preteens and bato very nonchalantly starts trying to weasle info out of him while hakoda starts slipping more spending money into his backpack because they are Good Dads
and iroh doesn’t even have to guilt trip zuko into wearing the leggings anymore– he even gets a picture of zuko in the whole get up while he tries to get his uncle to hurry into the christmas set piece so they don’t miss…the kids. definitely the kids and not that Boy who makes zuko snort laugh
sokka melts when zuko starts signing with a deaf kid in line to meet santa so he asks iroh if he can steal his elf for a food court date
(after a long internal debate about doing the whole sit-on-my-lap-and-tell-me-your-wish thing because he’s 15 and kind of an idiot outside of his stem classes and iroh is a very convincing santa)
zuko gets a boyfriend on christmas eve and they spend holiday break watching movies together at uncle’s house. he’s sure sokka is the best christmas gift he’s ever gotten.
sokka’s new phone homescreen is a picture of zuko at the christmas light show the city had set up at the park all december. his lockscreen is the picture iroh took though, which the old man had sent Sokka the day after the boys’ first date outside of the mall just to embarrass his nephew. zuko fucking Hates it
sokka gets his first real kiss at midnight on new years while his kid sister and her friends pretend to gag at the PDA and bato and hakoda pretend not to hear anything from their spots in the next room
