Days at Kominka (old house) in the sky|Countryside in Japan
Chilling on a peaceful mountain inn, soaking in the tub to admire the scenery and eating delicious warm food is my idea of a restful vacation.

The abandoned Alp’s Motel is hidden off the highway, nestled between some trees, on the same property as a newly renovated Ramada Inn. This building was originally part of the Mountain Motor Inn but for some reason, was not renovated like the rest of the property when it was sold and changed names. In the 1970′s, this motel was so well known for it’s eatery called the Alpine Lounge that it was featured in the New York Times. Located on Route 46 in Rockaway, New Jersey.

Another project from this past summer. This one is based on an important scene from a fantasy story I wrote in 9th grade... Two of the main characters, James and Eime, find the Gleaming Branch Inn after wandering for hours in a peculiar blizzard. Some day I'll have to revisit this silly old story!
