My Review : Kuu Neru Futari Sumu Futari / The Two that Eat and Sleep and Live Together (2014)
They've dated for 10 years and been living together for 8 years but still remains unmarried. So people in their lives are baffled by them. But as they grow older, they began to consider it. But first, they have to overcome the hurdles of what it really means to be a couple.
Their relationship is cute and wholesome, but there are several moments where they argue over daily things like cooking, spending money on hobbies and necessities, spending time with each other including lovemaking, work getting in the way, and babysitting.
I assumed it to be a typical "couple" living under the same roof type of romance trope but it turns out more realistic than I expected. Like the part he struggles to open her new lingerie which he is not familar with, how either one of them is always tired when one of them wants to do it.
How how he struggles to cook for the first time, so that they could take turn to cook and wash the dish and so on. How they they bicker at each other of their respective expensive hobbies as a waste of money, how her parents keep asking her to get married.
On the outside, they look like a cute couple together but inside the house, a lot of things go on. But despite their arguments and the urged to breakup, they overcome it together and still love each other, which what makes their relationship last that long.
The more married couples they talk to the more they realise, there's no being happy all the time, there will be times when you argue with each other over some thing. Life happens, your emotions get riled up, misunderstanding and miscommunications happens.
It's normal. It's up to the couple to figure out things together. If you keep running away at every slightest inconvenience, you'll never find "the one" because "the one" don't exist, in a sense that they all have flaws like we do and will have something about them that we don't like.
That's one thing I like about this drama is they always show both point of views, to show the audience why the boyfriend and girlfriend behave that way towards each other, which you do not understand at first, until they show you the other point of view.
