having an alterlinked kin is when you and another alter in a system have kins that are connected to each other, for example one alter kinning a character that they wouldnt kin unless someone else has a kintype that is a related character. do you get it

for a personal example, i kin cream soda cookie, and another alter is cherry cola cookie. we would not kin either of these characters if the other person didnt have the character as a kintype

I am unseelie faekin and have multiple psychiatric, developmental, and physical disabilities. I’ve been considering the term “changeling” as a label for a while. I personally heavily identify with the concept of having been switched at birth, both in a faekin way but also in the way of having been born disabled.

Many scholars believe that historically the idea of “changelings” were specifically used as an explanation for disabled children, which unfortunately often lead to their abuse. That dehumanization is an experience that’s all too familiar to many disabled children to this day. The same goes for the attitude from parents (especially non-disabled ones) that they have had something taken away from them.

I understand that changeling is already a term used by some alterhumans, disabled and otherwise. It is for the reasons discussed that I feel it particularly fitting of disabled faekin, faeriekin, and other adjacent identities. This is of absolutely not to say that non-disabled alterhumans cannot continue to use this term: I am not here to police people’s identities, though I do feel it important to bear the historical context in mind. It is my personal belief that this term can be reclaimed in this way.

I made this flag which is inspired by the disability pride flag but I am also happy to see other proposals! I’m really curious to hear what you all think about this.

Synersoul

"Synersoul" is a self-identifier characterized by the harmonious integration of multiple or all kintypes/theriotypes and other nonhuman identities into a singular, cohesive whole. In this concept, individuals embody traits, characteristics, and experiences from various sources, blending them seamlessly to form a unique, multifaceted identity.

A Synersoul person identifies with multiple/all kintypes simultaneously, without prioritizing any one over the others. These kintypes can span various species, characters, or even abstract concepts.

Synersoul is based off of the word "synergy" - meaning "working together to create something greater than either of you could do alone."

Usage example:

"My synersoul is a mix of a raccoon and a calico cat"

"I identify with my kintypes all at once, therefore, I'm a synersoul."

"I am a demon, a dragon and a wolf simultaneously. This makes me a synersoul."

Roleplaykin, (also called Rolekin) is an otherkin term for when you kin a character someone or yourself roleplays as, and therefore may be on the border of fictionkin and factkin.

This term was originally coined on my original blog (ashix0trender0juice) sometime back in 2020. I reblogged it to this blog on April 2nd, 2022. I've just decided to repost it entirely.

I’ve decided to coin a new term. It'll be a kin term that'll help lots of kin cope with the canon mate thing.The term is going to be known as, "Patron mate" It's like a canon mate; But you adopt them as your fill-in canon mate incase you never find said canon mate. Because rebirth is possible. But it's possible they were rebirthed in another universe/time; Not ours. Some Daves miss their Bros, and may never find them. But some Bros? Lost their Daves and may never find them and weep at the thought. They'd give anything for their lil man back. So the missing socks come together even if they don't match to be functional. Once you find your canon mate, they become a "Godfathered patron mate". Incase anything happens to your canon mate y'all can take care of each other! Neither should mean more than the other so don't neglect your "Godfathered patron mate" because you think you don't need them anymore.

(Not saying canon tl Bro and Dave are exactly functional and it's just an example; Apologies. Some Bro kin can be really nice, yknow?)
