For sale: unique haori with scrolling pattern
For sale (ebay)
A vibrant brown, black, and yellowy-gold Japanese kimono jacket. The fine woven patterns of leaves create a dense, rich texture under the lattice gate-like arabesque pattern. The lining is white with a woven pattern. This haori has been in my closet since the early 2000s but rarely worn. It's too hot in Florida!
The overlaid pattern reminds me somehow of late 80s American decor, or somehow Loreena McKennet or Enigma (music group.)
Smooth, with a heavier, stiff drape. The lining and outer fabric are certainly synthetic. That's common in modern kimono items since the lining would be stain-resistant and easy to wash. Haori are usually taken apart for washing and then retailoured every time it's put together. Some small issues. Please see the photos.
Excellent vintage condition.
