"I see you,... in a lonely place.." Heads turned to the soft sound coming from the stage. From her respective table near the dance floor Caitlin looked up, the glass of champagne in her hand lowered as her eyes found the stage. "How could you be so blind?" The lights dimmed and two spotlights were shone down, one on the bride and groom who couldn't help but smile widely before heading to the dance floor for the first dance and one shone on Cisco Ramon as he sang softly to the couple. Caitlin wasn't surprised by his singing talent of course, she's heard him one too many times whilst working on building something to know he had a great voice. What surprised her was him standing there singing in front a whole audience albeit to always scowling at Caitlin for watching him every time he did in private. She had always promised she wouldn't tell anyone, not even Ronnie or Barry as long as he was comfortable doing it around her in the Labs. This time everyone was hearing him, his sweet voice mixing into melodies of the Caldwell classic. Caitlin's favourite. It was odd hearing him sing such an old time classic instead of his usual My Chemical Romance. Caitlin could hear the change in the music, it was modernised or lack of a better word - Cisco'd. "Are you expecting to find the love... love that's right..." Caitlin watched blissfully as the man trailed his eyes around the room full of sappy dancers surrounding her before finally catching her eyes. Something in Caitlin hitched, like a breath, as the words filled her ears and suddenly all she could see and hear was Cisco. Her best friend. He knew her more than anyone - if she had to admit more than her past lovers because she could never confined to them like she did to him. He knew her inside and out. "Darling open your eyes! Let me show the light," He continued, his eyes never leaving hers. Caitlin couldn't help her eyes glistening sadly, watching him sing the words that would describe her too well. She was never able to find love that stuck. Much to her dismay every person she grew to love always ended up leaving one way or another. Her father left before she was born, her mother left after Caitlin told her she wanted to live her own life rather than hers, Ronnie and every man that came before and after him were all taken from her. The only consistency in her life were the Flash team, S.T.A.R labs and Cisco Ramon - her best friend. And Cisco knew that, he just wanted her to open her eyes and see the great life she was missing out on whilst her eyes were closed shut, filling with tears. She spent too many days, nights and years walking through life with her eyes closed afraid of being hurt that she couldn't see who was guiding her through the journey. . A low watery chuckle escaped his throat as Barry watched his feet whilst dancing with his wife, careful not to step on her or her beautiful dress. She looked breathtakingly beautiful with her angelic white dress and curled hair. Her chocolate skin ton stood out even more as her arms wrapped around his neck. "Barry, just look at me okay? Forget you're dancing and just.. look at me." Iris said softly, lifting his head up to look at her. He smiled widely, "I'm sorry, me and my two left feet are ruining everything." "I swear to you nothing could ruin this night. It's the first into the rest of our lives." She said sweetly. Her eyes glistened with pride and happiness, Barry would be lying if he said he's seen that look before and something bubbled inside him knowing he's the reason the look is there. "I don't think I ever believed people when they say they truly started living when they found their other half but now we're here, married and looking forward to spending our lives together and I feel like I've been reborn - I'm finally living." Barry couldn't help but smile, her words pulled at his heart strings. "I feel the exact same way Iris West-Allen. You know as a scientist for a while I stopped believing in feelings and love because there's no plausible explanation for them but whenever I'm with you there's no way to describe how I feel. I finally stopped searching for why I feel that way around you and just let it be... I guess sometimes you gotta just close your eyes and let the love of your life guide you through life." Iris nodded. "I'm happy to be the one to hold your hand while doing so Barry Allen." "I love you so much Iris and I hope you never forget that. Not even when times are dark." She shook her head. Her eyes watered and she took in a shaky breath. "I never stopped loving you - missing you... When you left, I was devastated but I knew... I just knew you'd be back." She whispered. "I love you Barry." Gently leaning in she brushed her lips against his, linking them into a kiss so spontaneous. . Caitlin was now dancing a few feet away from her married friends, her arms wrapped around Jesse's neck as they gently swayed to Cisco's voice. Jesse had come out after leaving Wally at their table and asked for a dance. Caitlin knew that Jesse probably took pity on her but danced with her anyway. Jesse had came into the team's life and mixed in so perfectly it almost felt like they've known her their entire lives. Caitlin was proud to call her, her friend, or the closest thing to a little sister she never had. It seemed like the song was finally coming to an end with Cisco playing the piano. Caitlin and Jesse stopped their dancing and smiled as they let go of each other. "That is my cue." Jesse said softly with a smile. Caitlin didn't have time to ask what she meant before Jesse kissed her cheek and ran off to where Wally had been standing on the side of the stage. Caitlin walked alongside the stage as Cisco walked to the steps to get to her. He grinned widely when he reached her and Caitlin chuckled before hugging him tightly. "That was amazing." "Well as best man I took it to myself to be number one best man and friend. Like killing two birds with one stone. Speaking of, maid of honour, when are you going to pizzazz us with a talent." Caitlin laughed. "When I actually find a talent that doesn't include science and checking glucose levels." Just then up on the stage Jesse stood beside the tall boy with a guitar around her neck. Wally tapped on the microphone to get everybody's attention. "Ahem, uh hey... uh, I'm Wally as only a few of you know. I'm the bride's little brother and I just wanted to say that I'm really happy to be part of this family. I've lost my mum a while back but found my dad and sister, brother and friends. I don't want to get corny or anything but Barry I for one am really glad you married Iris, I'm gonna miss living under the same roof as you but I'm glad you got her now. You deserve happiness in your life, you both do." Barry who stood with his wife raised his hand in acknowledgement, smiling tearfully at the boy he's grown to call his brother. Jesse said a few words on being happy to be a part of their friend group and the wedding before starting to strum her guitar. Wally grabbed the microphone and started to sing. "I've been looking under rocks and breaking locks, just trynna find ya. I've been like a maniac, insomniac - five steps behind ya..." Caitlin looked at Cisco in surprise. He looked equally astound by the boy's singing voice. "Am I the only one in this group who can't sing to save her life?" "Good thing you know how to save actual lives though." Then they began to walk, leaving the scenery where Wally was looking over at his guitarist one too many times adoringly. The cold November evening wind crashed against them as they stepped on to the balcony. Caitlin was glad she grabbed her little baby blue cardigan on the way. They stood staring out in the brightly lit city for a long quiet moment. There was no denying they enjoyed each other's quiet company, not complaining when it got so quiet they could hear birds and squirrels in the trees below. "I loved your song there," Caitlin broke the silence finally finding a subject to lean on. "It did Caldwell justice." Cisco breathed out dramatically. "Really? Thank god, I thought you were going to hate me for eternally ruining your song." He joked and Caitlin laughed softly. She loved his endless ways of making everyone, including her laugh effortlessly. "I loved it," She admitted. "But I feel like - I don't know something about the performance ..." "It was for you." He breathed out looking to the side to meet her eyes. Caitlin's smile slowly dimmed as all humour in the air evaporated. "Cait...I - I've known you for years, and I've helplessly watched you give your all to everything and never getting back what you deserve. After we found Ronnie, I knew all the pain you've been through was worth it because you're finally getting your happy ending but then he died and even I gave up hope." Caitlin looked down, her eyes stung at the back tears readying to escape. She wanted to stop him and tell him she's not ready to talk about Ronnie - not yet, even through it's been years but she wanted to see where he was going with this. "And then with Ja- Hunter, I realised I don't want to keep seeing you get hurt over and over, I wish with all my brains and power I could help you find the perfect person to spend the rest of your life with." Cisco said, his hand reached up to brush against her fair arm. Caitlin smile sadly, her hand wiping against her now wet cheeks. Her heart was thumping quickly and heavily as she watched the light coming from inside shine against Cisco's soft honey skin as he stared at her heartbreakingly. "And then? What happens when I finally do find the right person?" She could see him hesitate, reluctant to answer. "I will be by your side because you're my best friend and I care about you... your happiness is number one priority." "What happened to taking chances before they pass you by?" She said softly quoting the verse of the song he recently sang on stage. "And what if my eyes are finally open? Cisco the light is you and all I see is you." Cisco breathed in quietly, the breath hitching in his throat as Caitlin stepped closer to him. Her hand took his that rested on her arm, thumb gently tracing on the back of his fingers sending a swarm of butterflies into his chest. There's no denying, no more hiding how Cisco truly feels about his best friend - Caitlin Snow. Since the moment he first met her, at the lab with Hartley he knew they were going to spend their lives with one another - one way or the other. It was just his luck that it was being best friends. Maybe it's time for that to change. Caitlin finally closed the gap of nothingness separating them. Her lips collided with his champagne tasting slightly pink ones. They lips fitted around each other like soft satin sheets folded. As Cisco parted his lips and his tongue gently entered her mouth Caitlin could barely feel the rest of her body anymore. The kiss took her to a place she could never go, it almost felt like they were astral projecting and it was amazing. The soaring kiss lasted a few more seconds before they pulled away, faces serene and in peace as their eyes fluttered to look at each other. "Maybe we should take that risk, who knows how it'll end." Cisco nodded softly. "Maybe we should."
