How about some like HCs? for Madison Li and Conrad Kellogg as parental figures(Separately, I don't ship them together at all but I DO however see them as parental figures to an OC of mine, and was curious about yours HCs about them). 👉👈
Considering his rather sad past, he would have a hard time warming up to assuming a parental role. With that being said, once he does..he is nothing if not fiercely protective over his somewhat adoptive son/daughter.
He’s still an ass at best, but with you, he’s a bearable ass at least.
Sometimes can get a little mean if you put yourself in harm’s way. Look kid, he understands that it’s your “job” but that doesn’t mean he won’t interfere. Just you wait. As soon as you come back to him with a broken leg, he’s going to lose his shit. He might come off as ridiculous and hotheaded, but it comes from a place of love and terrible fear of losing yet another person he cares about.
He would deny it all he wants, but truthfully..he’d take a bullet for you any day.
He may even try his best to break away from the Institue, but he’s scared that they would retaliate for his betrayal and take it out on you. That alone is enough to keep him up at night.
Sometimes he’ll share the occasional beer with you, maybe even ruffle your hair up if he’s comfortable enough. That’s about where his paternal affection ends though..unless you count his protectiveness.
Madison’s attitude changes a lot depending upon where she is. What I mean by that is that she’ll probably be more relaxed while she’s at the Institute. Even though it isn’t necessarily safe and she has to worry about her colleagues, she knows that you’ll be safe there with her. She won’t have to worry about you contracting some kind of disease or die of radiation poisoning. Alternatively, if she’s with the brotherhood..she’ll eventually break her own heart by purposefully pushing you away. She doesn’t want you anywhere near them or Elder Maxson. It’s bad enough the she was a traitor...she’s still useful, as for you? Who knows.
A lot of the time spent with her includes you listening to her ramble off about some new theory she’s exploring- her trying to teach you little snippets of what she knows.
If you happen to like exploring the wastes, she’ll secretly become a nervous wreck the entire time you’re gone. She has family, she has her work..but if she lost you? She doesn’t even want to entertain the idea. Nonetheless, you likely won’t even be able to tell how distraught your absence makes her. She’s incredible at keeping her composure.
