Yesterday, I taught a private cooking class to a lovely couple who wanted to learn the ins and outs of making egg rolls! 🌯🥗🍤🥕🥬🥒🍗🍱 It was a birthday gift from his wifey and they were both insanely patient with me in waiting until my schedule calmed down to set the date for the class! Almost his next birthday 🤦🏼‍♀️😂🥳 Regardless, lots was learned during class, namely that the hardest part about egg rolls is the veggie prep work and reining in all the filling possibilities! 🌶🥔🧀🌭🧆🌮🥘🥙 We did fried egg rolls & fresh rice paper rolls filled with a cacophony of vegetables not to mention delectable “leftover” meats and fresh herbs! Use what you’ve got! 👨🏻‍🍳🙏❤️👨🏻‍🍳 Big thanks to @happyhippiepettreats for using his long earned knowledge in restaurant kitchens to be my fry master so I could talk and teach! What a fun time we had! BAKING CLASS WITH CHELBY! 👩🏻‍🍳🥣🍪 Once again, this sweet, sassy and smart as a whip young lady has mastered another baking challenge! This time we made Graham Cracker Chocolate Chip Cookies 🍪🥛🤤 a rather simple recipe that still takes some getting used to (it was made in the food processor 🤗) but still makes you look like you slaved away over a hot oven for hours! Chelby, as always, did an amazing job and I can see her progress each time we have a session! So proud of this young lady baker! I think she truly will one day open a little bakery! I’m really loving teaching these cute kids to cook and bake! On Friday, I had the supreme pleasure of teaching this little lady, Chelby, to bake up some Carrot Cake Doughnuts with Cream Cheese Frosting (carrot cake is her FAVE!)! 😍🤤🥕🍰🍩 This young lady has a passion for baking that cannot be denied and she jumps in to each lesson with excitement and gusto, and she doesn’t even mind getting her hands dirty! It’s hard for me to believe she’s just 12! 👩🏼‍🍳🥣❤️🥣👩🏼‍🍳 She did a great job and we had a blast, all while learning basic baking skills... and of course, we had to sample our creations... I think Chelby’s a fan of the cream cheese frosting... who wouldn’t be?!?! Summertime cooking classes are the best! There’s no rush to be somewhere or homework to be done! Nothing but time and talent on our hands! 👩🏻‍🍳👏🏻 KK opted for cold salads as her lesson this month! 🥗🥔🥓🍗🌽🌶 We made a trio of tasty salads that will keep her, and her family, nourished all summer long! She made Frito Bean Salad, Bacon Potato Salad and Classic Chicken Salad! 🔪👩🏻‍🍳🔪👩🏻‍🍳🔪 We worked on knife skills again and she’s getting better each time... now if those dang kids onions would just get in that bowl!!! 🥣 It’s been a pleasure watching this young lady grow confidence in the kitchen!
