Personally I think this is what The Farm refers to in the show.

Replimoids (clones) of the tenth generation being kept, happy to give blood, to be fed on. Immortal in their own right.

Obviously there is a strong comment to be / could / should be made by the show here - slaves kept for feeding. Similar to the evildoers they keep in the dungeons later, those decidedly not immortal but used for them to experience the kill. Similar to what Armand did, too, with the boy he kept. And what Damek is for in Dubai, too.

It is also interesting that Lestat notes the potential for abuse here - even though Kapetria has clearly explored and thought through it. Has worked with Fareed and Teskhamen. And Amel.

You mean that random Reddit comment claiming Rolin said that in the BTS episode? I don’t have the time to rewatch that at the moment, but I don’t recall Rolin ever saying that. In fact, there are actually several hooks and hints in S1 alluding to that particular arc in Prince Lestat.

Would it alter major events to exclude that plot? Mmmm….yes and no. The Replimoids don’t truly come into play until PLATROA.

It gets very convoluted and complicated but essentially, Amel awakens in Prince Lestat, and it’s explained that he is the Replimoid spirit from Atlantis that took over Akasha to fuse with her and create vampires. Up until Prince Lestat, Amel is simply called the Sacred Core, and he resides in Mekare for years after the death of Akasha. Mekare chooses Lestat at the end of Prince Lestat to become the new host for the Sacred Core, and that’s how Amel ends up inside Lestat. In PLATROA, Amel starts gaining in strength and power to the point he can move Lestat’s limbs and cause severe bouts of pain for him and all the vampires connected by the silver cord.

Enter: Kapetria. She’s a Replimoid who tells the story of basically how Replimoids and earth was created on the planet Bravenna by The Parents. The earth was hit by a meteor, which killed the dinosaurs, and humans then became the dominant species, which was never intended. The Parents took Amel from the earth and made him into a superhuman and sent him back to earth to stem the overpopulation. However, Amel fell in love with humanity, and he created the city of Atlantis. The Parents then created Kapetria and the other Replimoids and sent them to earth to destroy Amel and the human race. Like Amel, the Replimoids fell in love with humanity and refuse to destroy them. In the meantime, Bravenna blows up and pieces of it fall on the earth and destroy Atlantis. In the aftermath, the Replimoids, who are also immortal, are frozen in the earth and awaken thousands of years later with no idea what happened to Amel. To make this batshit story short, Amel is lost from Atlantis, and he ends up fusing with Akasha, which creates the first vampire. So now vampires are technically descended from aliens.

Anyways. 😅 Kapetria tracks down Lestat, realizing that Amel is now inside him, and she wants to set Amel free by building his own Replimoid body for him. That’s where severing the cord comes into play when Louis figures out that by stopping a vampire’s heart, it disconnects them from the web that links them all. Lestat, however, is not disconnected even though they stop his heart to save all the other vampires. They really believe Lestat will die if they remove Amel, and they view the Replimoids as their enemies. This is when the brain surgery comes into play, and Kapetria is able to successfully remove Amel from Lestat.

So technically no, it wouldn’t necessarily change any of the major plot points, but it does become a large factor in the Prince Lestat era as it basically retcons the origin of vampires established in QOTD and creates this new concept of the vampires being made of luracastria and descended from these alien beings who created earth instead of God. It also pretty much removed the premise of the vampires’ eternal struggles with original sin and damnation and good vs. evil. It also puts Lestat’s time with Memnoch in a different context in that Memnoch actually wasn’t the devil at all. He was an evil spirit simply trying to spellbind Lestat, and Lestat even mentions that Memnoch has been after him since the coma, but Lestat won’t fall prey to his schemes anymore, because once he recognizes a spell, it becomes ineffective on him.

If I’ve left characters out, it was primarily due to not having enough context on their actual personality to be able to distinguish between real character traits and what is simply their “vampire nature,” which often dominates the personalities of many of the ancients.

Overall, I think that vampiric nature generally favors people of a Ravenclaw or Slytherin disposition, and/or generates such traits easily over the centuries, but it’s entirely possible for a Gryffindor or Hufflepuff to thrive as a vampire, we just don’t see them as often, or their defining traits aren’t as obvious when they’re now living as killers to survive—which is a counterintuitive lifestyle for those two houses in particular.
