Not Lestat using pseudonyms with last names like BLACKWOOD and ODDBODY
Friendly reminder that Louis, in the books, was repeatedly referred to as a far greater danger to human life than the average vampire, and was considered an unsettling wildcard to others of his kind. How, due to his attachment to humans—his self-flagellation, his unwillingness to embrace his nature—he was constantly creating an environment in which he starved himself, emotionally and physically, withholding from killing until the need spilled out of him in a deranged, uncontrollable binge. And, once he surrendered, took lives without thinking until his hunger was no longer at the helm.
Many vampires in the novels, especially those who have been around for hundreds (or thousands) of years, use their telepathy to find people of ill repute to eat. It’s easier for many immortals to choose victims their conscience can excuse killing. But Louis, in the books, doesn’t do this. He goes about his life thinking he’s not leading a vampiric lifestyle, avoiding the necessity of feeding until he can't anymore—and vampires far more powerful than him find him alarming and worrisome as a result.
On one hand, this trait—one that is intrinsically tied to his humanity—makes him extremely desirable and compelling to other vampires. On the other hand, though, none bother to deny that Louis' hyperempathetic mentality is perversely unnatural to them, and they see his unhinged, manic behavior for what it is.
now say it with me: authors/artists dont owe you moral purity. an author/artist job is not to hold you by the hand & tell you exactly what is Good™ & what is Bad™. you should be able to think for yourself
"yes but depictions of (morally questionable thing) are only okay if its punished in the story" thats the hays code. you just reinvented the hays code
Okay but imagine being the team of Eridian scientists tasked with keeping Erid's Only Human alive for as long as possible while the whole planet's environment is literally trying to kill him. And then Rocky shows up and is like:
“Grace says he would like half of dome to be water.”
“Oh, is necessary for humans to have large amounts of water question?”
Small Eridian equivalent of a sigh. “No. Not needed for life. In fact Grace will die if he falls in water and does not get out.”
“Tell him we give him water in containers that won't kill him. Lots lots lots of water on Erid for Grace to drink.”
“No. Grace say he want water on ground. Also want it with excess sodium chloride compound so it will be unhealthy for drink.”
“WHY QUESTION???”
To celebrate Erid getting their sun back on track, Grace asks for some alcohol. There's a small amount left from the Hail Mary and Rocky offers to take it to the science Eridians to see if they can synthesise more.
“Grace want this liquid for celebration.”
“Of course.” They scan it. “You have wrong liquid. This contain compounds which are poisonous for humans.”
“Yes yes yes. Grace say humans like feeling of being slightly poisoned.”
“WHY QUESTION?????”
Grace is like one of those extremely finicky tropical fish who instantly die if not kept in extremely specific conditions.
Only here the fish can talk and keeps asking you to make it vodka.

Hi new Tumblr users
Please know this sites hashtagging system is categorical and NOT clout based
Aka if I look up the “Wendell and Wild” tag, I should find clips, media, art and posts related to Wendell and wild ONLY. Same with any other random tag searched
If I spy a selfie, a random neighborhood, or any other kind of “insta” post trying to take likes for a popular hashtag, I’m reporting you for spam. Most other long term users will too and your acct will be fast tracked as a spam blogger and blocked.
You will not ruin the last non corporate site for us, especially by trying to treat this site like influencers matter. If you get popular, it’s bc you’re a clown w a skill not bc your hot or rich or skinny, got it?
#holy shit at people in the notes this isn't 'tyrannical' it's basic courtesy AND against the tos #the spam report button is easily accessible for this exact reason #cross tagging is absolutely reportable spam according to tos so just don't do it #it also doesn't get you any more notes it just pisses people off
Like for real guys: This is against TOS. It is not allowed. It is spam. IT is not less spam because you are not a botfarm. Don't do it.
People (me) will report you for this (I will). If you are spamming the tags, someone (again, me) will click the little report button (and I will enjoy doing it) every time they (I) see your unrelated posts clogging their (my) search.
Do not tempt me.
I will add that nine times out of ten, it is obviously, verifiably spam. Like, links to random websites, porn, ads for shit, scams, all that jazz.
So if I see your post in the mix, I will treat it the exact same way.
"Xue Yang did all that to avenge his finger" is such a funny take, like. Did you listen to his story? Did you put yourself in the shoes of his 7yo self for ANY seconds at all?
Because lets recap: He was tricked, and used, and hungry, and beaten repeatedly, and treated as worthless and disposable, all by a man fully capable of paying him for his work. He was sent alone to deliver a taunt to a dangerous man. He was seven. He accepting the beating he received without complaint, and was further beaten for asking for the payment he'd been promised. He was whipped, and knocked in front of an ox cart.
Chang Ci'an didn't AIM the cart at his finger.
Chang Ci'an deliberately knocked a seven year old orphan child to the ground in front of an ox cart and ordered the driver to drive over the child.
And the driver did.
He manage to escape with ONLY one crushed finger (and, we can assume, many less permanent injuries). Crushing injuries are incredibly serious, and even one so small can be deadly. An orphaned child can't afford decent medical care. Adult Xue Yang has a SEVERED finger, which means that at best he managed to find a doctor who would amputate it for him, and at worst he cut it off himself. At age seven. Xue Yang is INSANELY lucky to have survived to age 8 after this incident.
This is why Xiao Xingchen's suggestion that Xue Yang should have merely cut off Chang Ci'an's finger, or hand, or arm, is so upsetting to Xue Yang. Yes, the revenge he did take was abhorrent and excessive, but Xingchen totally misses the point of the story (understandable in the moment, everything is happening SO MUCH at that point).
Xue Yang, at age seven, had done nothing wrong. He was a child, he was innocent, and he didn't deserve to be treated like his life was worthless by Chang Ci'an, or the cart driver, or the message recipient, or the restaurant owner, or every observer on the street who did nothing to help. And every person who tells him it's "just a finger" further treats the very real devaluing of and threat to his life as normal and fine.
If he, any time after age 7, had been able to exact revenge by cutting off Chang Ci'an's arm, there is nothing equivalent about that revenge. A severed arm is not a crushing injury, and is less likely to produce life-long chronic pain. Chang Ci'an would have good medical care-- a doctor, medicine, pain killers. His life would not meaningfully be in danger. Chang Ci'an had family (and money) to help him with whatever tasks being one-handed made difficult. Chang Ci'an was an adult, who's already lived a life without pain and disability, and who's prospects will not be impacted. Chang Ci'an was an ADULT and therefore better able to understand what was happening and why. And beyond all of that, Chang Ci'an would DESERVE IT.
To say that Xue Yang did everything he did to the Chang Clan in revenge over "losing his finger" is to betray an utter lack of willingness to empathize with Xue Yang. Even the 7yo version of him.
And he knows it. Which is why the suggestion is so upsetting.

tianlang-jun is the complete polar opposite of the usual trope of a homophobic parent to the extent he's disappointed in everything about his son except the gay love affair. like my son kind of sucks but the gay porn written about him absolutely slaps.
He's an interesting take on the disapproving in-law. He would be happy to have Shen Qingqiu join his family through marriage. He just thinks his nephew would be the better match.
horikoshi builds up this unwavering fraternal bond between natsuo and dabi just for natsuo to waste dabi's last days on earth to insult their father <- focus on endeavor
horikoshi builds up a slowly healing relationship between shoto and his mother, with rei gaining more and more resilience and autonomy (SHE is the one who saves touya) but the epilogue doesn't grant her a last conversation with her dying son OR with her other childre <- focus on endeavor and how she's low key his care taker
dabi loves his family (not endeavor) and regrets the time they lost but instead of getting to exchange final words and making his ending feel more like a peaceful closure, we are subjected to endeavor talking about the same shit for the umpteenth time <- focus once again on endeavor's uninteresting atonement instead of on his victims
i said it before but with regards to the todorokis, i don't mind that they didn't get a happy ending, i think it's fine that they're irreparably dysfunctional & that dabi's revenge costs his life, it just SUCKS that endevaor's parasitic presence is what cut all these other interactions and progressions short, like the reason for dabi's unkind ending is a very easy one, horikoshi simply likes endeavor a lot lol
it just feels so out of character for natsuo to see his brother on his deathbed and waste the little time they have on shitting on their dad and ALSO calling him cool or whatever, like natsuo was so vocal and aggressive in his grief, no one stood up for touya after his passing like natsuo did they were so close, the loss of his brother influenced natsuo's career choice like he loves his brother so much, you cannot make me believe that he wouldn't ignore their deadbeat father and just spend time with dabi
*watches my only beloved son slide down this and crinkle up like a crushed soda can*
It’s good for the soul okay

my little sister is 5 by the way and she is fuckign hilarious im literally crying rn
Hey guys the star of Let It Snake is graduating high school today lmao
A German regional court has ruled that Google is directly liable for the content of its AI search overviews. According to the court, previou
Let’s fucking go
This is HUGE.
1. The court holds Google responsible for statements made by its AI, considering them Google's statements (search engines have limited liability for results in their engine as they're the words of other sites/companies/people), meaning when their AI lies/hallucinates they're liable for the defamation/harm resulting from those statements.
2. Google's defense that customers are generally aware of the lack of reliability and are responsible for fact checking was dismissed. As the court pointed out, that would "significantly diminish" AI Search's stated purpose and it can't be distinguished from Google's business practices/statements as a search tool.
3. Studies have found about 91% of Google's everyday AI responses are accurate, leaving millions of searches per HOUR with potential liability for falsehoods. 56% of correct responses weren't supported by the sources the AI listed. Both of which mean Google is now liable for a LOT more AI "errors."
4. Google was held liable for 80% of court costs in this case and this precedent is expected to reverberate around the world. This is a massive shift from the 3rd-party search provider role Google has previously played and it comes right as they've tied ALL searches to their AI search.
TL;DR Google reeeeeally stepped in it this time.
Additional source and more details below. Absolutely thrilled to say that this is real. And yeah, it's huge.
For all the reasons above AND ALSO because this particular lawsuit is a defamation case
Privacy lawsuits are hard because most privacy laws are super super weak, and there's very rarely a lot of money or enforcement backing privacy laws for...twenty million reasons, really...
But defamation suits? Those have teeth.
(In large part because, at least in some countries and including in the US, defamation laws protect public figures the least - and "public figures" legally includes most if not all politicians, and a hell of a lot of other rich ppl too)
A Munich court ruled Google's AI Overviews are its own words, making it liable for false claims, a decision that, if it holds, could reach e
A German court has ruled that Google can be held directly liable for false claims made by its AI Overviews, a decision that could put a serious legal dent in the whole “the AI made me do it” defense. According to The Next Web, the Regional Court of Munich issued a temporary injunction after Google’s AI Overviews wrongly tied two Munich publishers to scams, subscription traps, and dubious business practices. The court treated those AI-generated summaries as Google’s own statements, not just ordinary search results pointing to third-party pages. That distinction matters. Search engines have traditionally had more protection because they index and link to other people’s content. AI Overviews changes the machinery. Google is not just showing the web anymore. It is summarizing it, rewriting it, and sometimes apparently hallucinating a tiny legal grenade into the results page... This is still a preliminary injunction, not a final ruling, and Google can appeal. But for publishers, brands, SEOs, and anyone watching AI search swallow the results page, the message is clear: if Google wants to be the answer engine, courts may start treating it like the publisher of those answers.
