Hey I saw your post on the funeral director stuff and I know that that's all ridiculous but let's not pin this on the directors. They're not the ones in charge of the costs. Actually they don't make a whole lot of money themselves, it mostly goes to the directing company. (If I'm understanding my best bud's profession right). She says they make about as much as teachers. The funeral industry itself is toxic, not the workers. 😓

I know prices aren’t the fault of workers. My household is full of union members and supporters, and I would never want to give the impression that I don’t fully support my fellow worker. There are a lot of people in the death industry that are there because they want to support and serve their communities in difficult times, and are trying extremely hard to change things from within. I have immense respect for those people, and would gladly be one of them if I could access the education and certifications.
That said, the post in question was about two specific funeral directors in my city, not funeral directors in a general sense, because I’m working on compiling a directory of local death services. The two funeral homes in question are directly owned and operated by the funeral directors themselves, who have decided to set outrageous prices and push unnecessary purchases.
